It brings me great pleasure to write this review about my recent experience at ARIRI where we had attended a very special milestone birthday for my brother.
From the moment I stepped into ARIRI African Restaurant, we were enveloped in a bright warm and inviting atmosphere that instantly made us feel at home. The vibrant decor, adorned with traditional African art, set the perfect backdrop for what would be an unforgettable culinary experience. Now, let’s talk about the food—oh my goodness! The star of the show for me was undoubtedly the fried rice, fried peppered chicken draped in a yummy spicy 🌶️ sauce (that sauce is the boss) and plantain. Food was Generously portioned and bursting with flavour, it was a delightful medley of spices and ingredients that danced on my palate. Each bite was a celebration of authentic African cuisine, showcasing the chef's skill in balancing flavours without overwhelming them. The rice was perfectly cooked—fluffy yet hearty—and complemented by an array of colourful vegetables and tender pieces of meat that added depth to every mouthful. But it wasn’t just the fried rice that impressed me; every dish we tried had its own unique flair. From savoury stews to grilled meats seasoned to perfection, each plate.
The MUSIC made the atmosphere feel even more vibrant back to back hits being played in the background while beautiful children ran around gleefully playing. The lovely Chef took time to come out and check that we were all satisfied with our food and stopped to chat with customers warming up to everyone. She has very calm energy and enthusiasm and her husband although bombarded with orders and busy took time to listen to customers and ensure food was served promptly, lovely family restaurant indeed.
I bless this restaurant IJMN and we will return again when we visit Leicester. Psalm 90:17 (edited slightly as a dedication to ARIRI) - “May the favour of the Lord our God rest upon you; establish the work of your hands for you – yes, establish the work of your...
Read moreLoved the food and the lady who attended to us was lovely. The restaurant wasn't busy when we visited so we were served fairly quickly. We ordered the peppered goat meat as a starter and it was delicious. It was tender and juicy. I would say if you can't handle pepper, it's probably not for you. We then ordered our main meal; poundo yam and bitter leaf soup for me and oha soup for my husband. The portion was big for us, so we had to take the rest home. The meat in the soup was way too soft we couldn't even recognize what we were eating and we personally didn't like that and ended up throwing away most of it. It would also have been more lovely if the bar worked and cocktails were available, because we really wanted that and had to go somewhere else for drinks after eating. They do sell soft drinks and beer sha. Also the music playing was of a very fast tempo, like a DJ mix which gave club vibe😅. Playing Nigerian music in their original beat would have made the experience better. But overall it was a good time and we will visit again for that peppered meat....
Read moreI had such a great experience at this restaurant. The food was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully cooked. I ordered eba with vegetable stew, as well as jollof rice with chicken and plantain, and everything tasted authentic and delicious. The eba was smooth and paired perfectly with the rich, well-seasoned vegetable stew. The jollof rice was fragrant and full of flavor, with tender chicken and perfectly fried plantain on the side. Delicious!!
The portion sizes were generous, and the presentation was inviting. The staff were warm, welcoming.
The atmosphere of the restaurant was relaxed and friendly, full of good vibes, making it a great place to enjoy a meal with family or friends. I left feeling full, satisfied, and excited to come back to try more dishes.
Highly recommend for anyone who wants a true...
