Replying to @millpow Dope Dough šŸ• šŸ“20-21 Witham, Hull HU9 1BY I’ve been wanting to do a vegan review for a while because I know some of you don’t eat animal products, and I was curious how tasty vegan meat replicas are! When I joined the VeGANG šŸ˜‚ I knew I didn’t want to review something basic like a sandwich. After some research, I found Dope Dough offers a full vegan range! I’d seen loads of hype online, and one of you even recommended them for their chips, so I thought trying their vegan loaded fries and pizza would be the perfect excuse to scratch my itch for a plant-based review! ā˜ŗļø Vegan Bolognese Cheese Fries šŸŸ (Ā£8.90?) The board said Ā£7? Definitely needs updating, this is why I do these reviews! šŸ˜‚ For milk-free cheese, this had a lovely mature flavour and was surprisingly lush. The chips were crispy outside, soft inside, with a good crunch. They use a seasoning called Dope Spice. I expected standard chip spice, but this had a boujee taste, think garlic, paprika, salt, pepper (I think). Check the ingredients yourselves! The tomato purĆ©e was rich, and the vegan bolognese tasted so authentic I had to double-check it wasn’t real meat. All the elements together? Top-tier. My only wish: the cheese had been more melted and mixed through, not just plonked on top. But hey, vegan cheese doesn’t melt the same. 8.5/10 Vegan Chick’n Fries (Ā£7.50) I didn’t eat in and felt like a troll under a bridge with my hot takeaway šŸ˜‚ I felt guilty since they’d packed it all up, so I walked till I found somewhere to eat. Shoutout to the insulation, the container was roasting and kept me warm 🄲 This time I was actually charged the right price, so maybe the earlier one was a fluke? The fries were softer, which was a letdown as I love a crispy chip. The vegan chicken was a miss, no real flavour and kind of just tasted like nothing. Tomato sauce was still lovely, and the vegan cheese held up again. I’d just love to see it layered through the fries. Personally, I’d skip this one and go for the cheaper vegan cheese fries or spend a bit more for the bolognese. 5.5/10 The place wasn’t as welcoming as I expected, no music or atmosphere. As a girl with autism, I didn’t mind this, but from a general customer view, it doesn’t exactly invite you to dine in. Vegan Bolognese Pizza šŸ• For my exit out the VeGANG, of course I had to finish with a pizza, especially from somewhere called Dope Dough šŸ˜‚ Ā£21.80 for a pizza and dips is steep, can’t lie. I’d recommend collecting it if you can! The dough was soft and bread-like, not oily like most takeaway pizzas, which was nice as it didn’t lay heavy. The tomato base was rich and full of flavour, same purĆ©e as the fries! The cheese was the same too, but didn’t stand out here. You could taste it in parts, but it lacked that melty cheese moment. I also couldn’t taste much bolognese, which was odd since it came through so well on the fries. 5.5/10 Vegan Dips I expected one dip and got two! The garlic sauce had a strong flavour and creamy texture that paired really well with the dough. 8/10 Assuming the other was vegan mayo, it tasted close to the real thing! Same creaminess, just not as strong, with a thick yoghurt-like consistency. Would defo eat again, think it’d pair great with fries. 7/10 Overall: 7/10 It’s hard to replicate flavour using plant-based products, so big up to Dope Dough for offering a full vegan takeaway range. The cheese just misses that stringy, melty feeling. I’d skip the vegan meats, especially the chicken, and stick to cheese or bolognese. The bolognese came through strong in the fries but not at all on the pizza, and the chick’n was pretty tasteless. That said, it’s a solid option for vegan takeaway lovers not wanting to feel left out on pizza night. Absolutely amazing food we went for the 20inch pig pizza aswell as some loaded chips, the pizza tasted amazing really nice and fresh, loaded chips were the best ive had and the brownie was out this world. Personally I think it's really reasonably priced for what kind of ingredients you are getting. BTW if you want an amazing milkshake you have to try the custard milkshakes they do.

20 minutes late and still waiting!! Called them to get a response of ā€˜ we are still waiting for a driver’ and no idea when they will have one or when it will be delivered. Don’t tell people it will be a 70 minute wait when you haven’t actually got a clue when it will be delivered. Tried to cancel and received this message!!

We used to order from here all the time but it’s taken an absolute nose dive, this is the second time we’ve ordered and everything has been stone cold in places and piping hot in others - basically saying it’s been microwaved after sitting out for ages waiting for delivery. We thought we’d give it a second chance after last time when we waited 3 hours and everything was stone cold, thought it was just a one-off - unfortunately it was no better this time. We’ve had to reheat everything before we can eat it and the chips (Ā£5 a portion!) are still inedible. At nearly Ā£40 an order with a Ā£4.50 delivery charge this is disgusting that they think it’s acceptable to serve such low quality food that takes literal hours to arrive at your door. Disappointing to...

After seeing all the great photos on Facebook this was a place I had to try whilst in Hull. No obvious parking outside the store so paid the £2 charge for the large parking area over the road. We tried a mamouth 20", a standard 12" along with cheesy chips. The dough is one of the best I have had and with the large pizza you get some Dip to finish off those crusts. The smaller pizza was also great with fresh toppings adding to the flavour. The cheesy chips unfortunately were slightly burnt making them dry and could have been better. I waited roughly 20 minutes from ordering. If I lived closer I would definitely order more from here and travelling the 45 minutes, it didn't disappoint. Will have to try the burgers next time we are in Hull. Thanks for the...

We have lived in Hull for over 10 years and we have only just tried the dope chain, OMG 😳 I had no idea what I was missing šŸ™Œ the pizza was spot on the best šŸ• I have ever had in my life, we shared the pineapple & bacon pizza and the brisket pizza, the pineapple one was better than any other I have had, but omg the brisket pizza was to die for I would literally fight someone to get my hands on another 🄊 Now let talk about the fries šŸŸ WOW just Wow let me just say thank you to the chef What a Ledgend, since moving to Hull from Manchester I have always loved Hull chips, once I first had chip spice I never had them without, but this guy goes one ahead, thank you, thank you so much. delivery was on time friendly guy I could not...
