A Fantastic Evening at The Three John Scot JD Wetherspoon Pub in Hull Stepping into The Three John Scot JD Wetherspoon Pub in Hull, I was immediately struck by the warm and inviting atmosphere. The dimly lit interior and the buzzing hum of conversation created the perfect ambiance for a memorable evening. Accompanied by two friends, we were in for a treat that surpassed our expectations. First and foremost, let's talk about the drinks. As connoisseurs of quality lager beer, we were thrilled by the extensive selection available at The Three John Scot. The pub showcased an impressive array of both local and international brews, ensuring that there was something for every palate. From refreshing pilsners to robust ales, the pub's commitment to offering a diverse beer menu was truly commendable. Each sip was a testament to the craftsmanship and dedication put into the selection. To complement our drinks, we decided to indulge in some delectable bar bites. The chicken wings and onion rings we ordered were nothing short of exceptional. The chicken wings were perfectly seasoned, with a delicious balance of spices that had us reaching for more. Crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, each bite was a tantalizing explosion of flavor. The onion rings were equally delightful, boasting a satisfying crunch and a mouthwatering onion filling. These delectable treats were the perfect accompaniments to our lagers, elevating the entire experience. Beyond the impressive food and drink offerings, what truly stood out at The Three John Scot was the impeccable service. The staff members were attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable, creating an inviting and comfortable atmosphere. They were more than willing to offer recommendations and suggestions, ensuring that our evening was tailored to our preferences. Their genuine enthusiasm for their craft made the entire experience all the more enjoyable. Throughout the evening, we found ourselves immersed in lively conversation, punctuated by bursts of laughter. The Three John Scot provided the ideal backdrop for our gathering, allowing us to relax and savor every moment. The cozy seating arrangements and the well-spaced tables further added to the overall comfort and privacy, making it easy for us to enjoy our time together. In conclusion, The Three John Scot JD Wetherspoon Pub in Hull exceeded our expectations in every way. From the quality of the lager beer to the delectable bar bites, our taste buds were treated to a symphony of flavors. The friendly and attentive service elevated our experience, ensuring that we felt welcome and valued. If you're looking for a fantastic time out in Hull, The Three John Scot is an absolute must-visit. Trust me, you won't be disappointed.

This pub is a COVID 19 time bomb waiting to go off. I visited this pub at approx 1700hrs on Mon 10th August. On entering we found just a QR code to scan for Track and Trace. No one was actively taking names and numbers, no one explaining COVID-19 rules to you and no indication of where to sit. On sitting down at the nearest table we found that the table was dirty and had not been wiped from the previous diners, and we had to ask a member of staff to wipe the table. On the floor was remnants of food that had been dropped by the previous diner. Even though this food stuck out like the Eifel Tower, no member of staff cleaned it up. Within the pub people just sauntered around without face masks, and no member of staff or management challenged this. Did most customers there that day have exemptions from the mask? Other places have rigid rules about mask wearing when not at the table. One old guy was playing the fruit machines, coughing onto them, and into his hand, then continuing playing. The machines were not sanitised after use with the staff blissfully unaware of this. In my opinion this pub is NOT COVID Secure, and the longer I was in there, the quicker I wanted to leave. When our food came the cutlery we were given was shocking, filthy and no care had been taken with it at all. There seems to be a real lack of management direction, there is no communication between the staff and no one is ensuring the pub is clean and hygenic. Needless to say I think this pub is an accident waiting to happen, and I will be steering well clear of it.

A very elegant and impressive building, the former Post Office establishment in Hull. Named after 3 vicars of the same name who served in the church across the way. It has a very historical background and this is illustrated on the story boards in the Wetherspoons itself - go and read them when you visit. It's a long building with a beer garden as well. The toilets were downstairs for a change! Ladies were clean and tidy. Staff pleasant and friendly and the service good. Local beers available and a good selection of wines too. Food served quickly and staff checked to see that everything was all right - which it was. We'll visit again when next in Hull.

My review relates to bar service only and not accommodation or food. It was a Tuesday night; four staff were on the bar. It was about 9:30pm and not particularly busy. There was only one member of bar staff serving. Three other bar staff walked past me on several occasions for the 10 minutes that I stood at the bar, waiting to be served. Most bars would prioritise customer service over restocking the fridges or clearing glasses - but not the staff at this venue. Or, they might have said, “Someone will be with you shortly”, but not this venue. Eventually, when a member of the bar staff recognised that I existed and wanted service, their response to the lack of service is that “I’m a busy person.” At this point, I asked to see the manager. When the manager spoke with me, there was no sense of remorse or the concept that the customer expects to be service in a timely manner and without attitude. The manager’s response was that they “were busy”. My assessment is that there was less than 15 people in the venue and four service staff, plus a manager. That is not busy! After some encouragement, the manager reluctantly apologised for the lack of service offered and the attitude of the staff member with attitude. Will I be back? NEVER. Both because of the attitude of the manager, in not being apologetic until pushed to apologise (and even when the apology was offered, there was no real sense of regret); and the bar staff who failed to realise that I am a customer and that, like all customers, I expect service in a timely manner and certainly , without lip and attitude. It’s regrettable that this level of service and attitude existed on, what I experienced, was a very quiet night. Let’s hope they learn from...

The pub was full on arrival with a good atmosphere We happened upon on the only available table and managed to order drinks and food using the Wetherspoons app which I have to say was great. The drinks arrived cold and in clean glasses which is more than could be said for the table. As our food arrived the staff member didn't even take away the former persons clutter leaving the mess for us to work around. The starters, 3 Prawn Cocktails left a lot to be desired with tired and wiltered looking lettuce and a truly appalling level of prawn content ie four in the whole dish. You get more prawns in one half of a M&S prawn samdwich. My daughters food looked lovely. She ordered a baked potato with cheese and a side salad. Plenty of fresh looking salad with a generous portion of cheese. My partner ordered the lamb shank a meal she had ordered and enjoyed before , and she wasn't disappointed, it looked great. My meal however was awful. I had ordered the steak and kidney pudding, chips, peas and gravy. The steak and kidney pudding was overcooked, dry and not great at all. The chips were as well cooked as the steak and kidney and as for peas, well my only question was where were they. I have seen kids meals arrive larger than mine. I know the meals here aren't exactly expensive but please. I'd rather pay more and have a decently sized well cooked meal than the poorly cooked less then kids meal size effort that arrived on my plate. I paid just over thirty pound for this meal and left feeling let down and would you believe still hungry. It would seem that the standards in this place are falling fast. I for one won't be back until they sort...
