Cracking pub this is you like proper ciders like I do, there were 6 on when I visited. Very friendly staff and customers. Its located on Hodgson Street which is a side street off New Cleveland Street and wouldn't expect to see a pub there as it surrounded by industrial businesses. It was a bitterly cold day when I visited so it was great to see they hade a lovely real fire burning. I have added a few 360 degree photos of the pub for Google Streetview so you have a look inside and in the beer garden. Well worth a visit if your in Hull.

Finally made it to The Ship. What a great little friendly pub. Excellent stouts on tap, the chocolate brownie one was lush. Wish I'd known about the Friday fish & chip meal thing (you need to order by Thursday) as it was ENORMOUS & smelled divine. They do big Sunday breakfast for a tenner, again pre-order required. Will definitely be back to this little local gem. Thanks for the hospitality :)

Trying to get round every pub in Hull, the number of pubs I have given five stars to you could count on the fingers of one hand, this is one of them. Six cask conditioned real ales all in top form, and a selection of bottled belgian beers. A lovely cosy traditional pub with a nice beer garden. Breakfast served Sunday morning pre booked only and fish and chips on a Friday. Highly recommended.

Tried catching food night several times but they were off for a while when the fryer died. If that was me I would insure the thing because it seems that everyone rates the food.

I love the place. It's run by the nicest staff you could ever hope to meet. Always a friendly greeting and greeting-farewell (that polite manners said as you pay and grab your drinks) so you feel relaxed very quickly there.

There is a lovely atmosphere in the building, and not the sort that ghost stories often originate from 😂

The drinks are very fairly priced and they have a dog friendly attitude. The crowd tends to be the more mature people. This is a good thing indeed!

The manager also runs some other charitable youth hostels, and I really value people like that who put back into the community, especially for the youth for whom a better role model could not be...

The Ship Inn is a fantastic pub with a welcoming atmosphere and a great selection of six well-kept cask beers, making it a haven for real ale enthusiasts. The staff are friendly, polite, and always happy to chat, creating a relaxed and sociable environment. The customers are equally approachable, adding to the pub’s charm. What sets The Ship Inn apart is the owner’s dedication to supporting microbreweries, showcasing a genuine passion for quality craft beer and helping small producers thrive. It’s a must-visit for anyone looking to enjoy great drinks and...
