I heard this place was nice and all of the serving staff were lovely but I recently had the unfortunate experience of encountering Monika, the sinister manager at Lucky Beach Cafe. It is with a heavy heart that I write this review to warn fellow patrons about the troubles that this wicked woman brings upon unsuspecting visitors.
From the moment I walked in, Monika exuded an aura of malevolence that made my skin crawl. Her cold, calculating gaze sent shivers down my spine, as if she were plotting the downfall of anyone who dare stand in her way. She seemed to take pleasure in inflicting misery upon both customers and staff alike.
Not only was Monika incredibly rude and dismissive, but she also demonstrated a complete lack of professionalism. She berated her employees in front of customers, creating an uncomfortable atmosphere that left everyone feeling on edge. Her tyrannical rule created an environment of fear and anxiety, ruining what could have been an enjoyable dining experience.
It is evident that Monika possesses an insatiable thirst for power, which she quenches through her despotic ways. Her attitude and actions have undoubtedly driven away many loyal customers, including myself. I strongly advise against supporting Lucky Beach Cafe as long as Monika continues to reign with her iron fist.
In conclusion, avoid Lucky Beach Cafe unless you enjoy the company of an evil, malevolent manager named Monika. Your taste buds, your peace of mind, and your overall dining experience are worth far more than the misery she will undoubtedly inflict — i would hate to work her
Remember, there are countless other establishments where you can enjoy a delicious meal without the presence of someone so sinister. Spare yourself the agony and stay far, far away from this unlucky cafe.
Edit: They have attempted to remove my review from google but clearly it doesn’t qualify for any of the reasons listed below this. They can try and control their narrative but i’m sure their absolutely abysmal management will speak for itself when it comes to the success of this farce...
Read moreWish I'd read a few more of the reviews before sitting down at this place. Staff were friendly and taking order etc was pretty good. Food was unacceptable however. We ordered a crab bruschetta which looked fine but I suspect was mainly anything other than crab (didn't get as far as tasting). I thought my fish and chips was an April fool. Complained to waitress who fetched another waitress. First off, I'd like to say that the waitress did try to handle the complaint and I feel sorry for them being put in this situation... The fish and chips was a tiny portion (see picture). They had clearly had the complaint before as the excuses were quite well-rehearsed. These included it being "organic" (anyone know of any non-organic cod?) and locally caught hence it's small, to sometimes the fish folds over in the fryer to sorry, it's been a really busy day. They initially said that they'd get me a replacement, but said all their fish was weighed to be 140g. Chips were normal packet fare but again a tiny amount. They went away and I would guess that the manager/owner couldn't be bothered to fix the problem as they just came back with an email address and said come back another time to have a meal on them. We didn't have to pay for our partly consumed drinks and left. We ended up walking up the road to the Regency. Although that wasn't quite as good as it's been in the past and sadly is not "hip" and does not describe itself as a "joint", they did deliver decent fish and chips and we did not feel ripped off (see second pic). The fish and chips there was 5p more. I'm staggered by the number of good reviews of this place. Either some of the other dishes are better value or the reviewers are clueless. In common with another recent reviewer we also found the place not that clean. The aprons being worn by the wait staff had clearly not seen a washing machine in some time...
Read moreWe recently visited Lucky Beach Café and had a fantastic experience! Nestled right on Brighton Beach, it offers stunning views and an incredible atmosphere, making it a perfect spot for a relaxing meal. What made the experience even better was the seamless ordering system—they’ve made it incredibly easy by allowing customers to scan the QR code on the table. The moment you scan it, your table is automatically selected, and you can place your order without needing to flag down a server. It made the entire process super efficient and hassle-free, which was especially helpful when dining with a little one.
Now, onto the food—we tried the Fish and Chips, Fish Tacos, and the Kids’ Burger with chips, and all three were absolutely delicious! The Fish and Chips were perfectly cooked with a light, crispy batter that didn’t feel too heavy. The fish was fresh and flaky, and the chips were golden, crispy on the outside, and soft on the inside. If you’re visiting Lucky Beach Café, the Fish and Chips are definitely a must-try.
The Fish Tacos were another highlight of the meal. The tacos were packed with flavor—juicy, fresh fish, vibrant salsa, and just the right amount of spice. It was a lighter option but still filling and satisfying. If you’re a fan of tacos, these are not to be missed!
Our 3-year-old had the Kids’ Burger with chips, and it was the perfect size for him. The burger was juicy, and he loved the crispy chips that came with it. It’s always nice when a place puts thought into their kids’ menu, and Lucky Beach Café did just that.
Overall, we were impressed with both the food and the service. The QR code system made everything run smoothly, and the food was fresh, flavorful, and well-prepared. Highly recommend it for a casual, delicious meal...
