Yeah... not changed since I was last here!

Last time I frequented Nico's, I was 19: I danced on the tables; I pulled the girl I fancied; I went onto the Garage and forgot it all.

A lifetime later, I revisit an old haunt that has always held a special place in the heart of the student that still resides somewhere in this father of three.

If you are reading this in order to confirm your choice of venue for your weekend, or even weekday in Glasgow; look no further. Any student worth his or her salt would better spend their time in this jovial institution, than queue for firewater: a pub that opened in 2001 and has never impressed this humble reviewer.

Never again. Why would you book a hard techno rave to complain about the music being played I honestly don’t understand. When asking members of staff why it ended an hour early they couldn’t come up with the same story, one tells me a girl took il another tells me noise complaints, noise complaints at 9pm? Really? And to add that one of the DJs even told me he refuses to play at nicos because u tell him what to play. Stopped in for a pint with my good lady yesterday afternoon and this place was lively with a DJ playing dance tunes and full of younger people but had a good atmosphere for a Saturday afternoon but found the young guy behind the bar a dour faced git with no people skills. My partner thought at first it was just us he being like that cos we were older but when a younger crowd came in I watched him waving his arms about looking annoyed at them also cos they were taking there time to pay him.
