I'm giving this place 1-star to really emphasise the issue we experienced that caused us to leave fifteen minutes after arriving.
It was my friend's birthday and he organised a night to have with our group by booking a table for 6 (costing him ÂŁ30) a couple days in advance. The table was booked for 7pm and we arrived at 7pm sharp (later than we aimed for, but we assumed it wouldn't cause any problems).
The place was crowded but that was partially to be expected due to it being a Friday night. Unfortunately, the abundance of people was the root of the problem that came next. After waiting some time to be seated at a table - which for some reason wasn't already prepared upon our entry - we were almost instantly greeted with an obnoxiously loud group seated next to our table. Typical drunk behaviuor.
My friend requested we be moved to another table, but this wasn't possible according to the bar staff. Our next request was for the noisy group to be asked to pipe down a tad, but they denied possibility of that too. In the end, the experience just wasn't worth holding out for the rest of our friend group to arrive. And it certainly, by any means, was not worth paying ÂŁ30.
On our way out, one of the staff apologised for our unsatisfaction. Apology accepted I guess, though we already made our decision regarding coming back in the future. Thank goodness Katie's and AXM were nearby to save my friend's birthday night-out. Driftwood, you have good drinks. I'll give you that. But it's not enough to promise a good night in the future. You need...
Read moreNice outdoor patio, but as I was sitting at a table with my friend having our gin and tonics, a waitress came out and plopped a reserved sign on the table and simply said the tables has been reserved. I had tried to ask for when, but she didn't hear me. I thought usually it would be at least fifteen minutes so at least we could finish our drinks but no, the party was right there. I thought that was just the rudest thing, I mean she basically told us to scram and walked away, no warning, no apology or even the slightest bit of courtesy. I would have moved anyway but I mean, I just left thinking that's actually the rudest thing that's happened to just completely treat us like nothing. Even though my friend lives a couple doors down, I would probably never come back here. And to be honest the bar staff could communicate a little more instead of just ignoring the patrons while they serve another. Just to be acknowledged is really all it takes. On a positive note, I like that they have paper straws and also the video of people shredding on piano on...
Read moreI had a table booked last night for 15-20 people for 8:30pm it was booked under the name Donna Coombe Its just to let you know that me and my friends didn't get in at the door, the bouncer wouldn't let one of the girls in who was 27 and didn't have id but was letting everybody else who didn't have id. He got very aggressive towards us because we were asking why he let people looking younger than us straight in the door, he asked us to wait on the manager but didn't say how long we had to wait so we decided to go else where and spent over £600 on drinks which would have been spent in your place of work. I think you should look into hiring professional bouncers as the guy was more Interested speaking to his friends than dealing with us. Just to let you know none of us will be back and we are all individually putting a review on TripAdvisor of the...
