The Winkle — Restaurant in Great Britain

Amazing resturant with the freshest and most delicious seafood and the loveliest staff!

We came to The Winkle for a late dinner after arriving in Brighton. Everything on the menu looked incredible but we went for the mackerel paté and the daily special of fresh crab. It was undoubtedly the best paté and crab we've ever had.

Charlie was our server and he just went above and beyond for us in every way. He was kind, helpful, a great laugh and checked in on us regularly. We were a bit intimidated about getting into the crab and he brought up the lovely chef (crab in hand) to explain to us how to tackle it/how it would be prepared. All the staff were kind and welcoming but Charlie especially made our experience so fantastic that we wouldn't hesitate to come back.

The crab special was incredible value for money and you will not find fresher or more beautifully prepared seafood anywhere. Highly, highly recommend...

Wow, what an absolute gem of a find The Winkle restaurant is! We stumbled upon it completely by accident, and it turned out to be one of the most delightful dining experiences we've had in ages. From the moment we walked in, we could feel the creative energy of the owners – they were not only incredibly attentive but had clearly poured their hearts into crafting an inspired menu. This relatively new place on Brighton seafront is OUTSTANDING!!!! Visited with friends and family on a gloriously sunny Saturday afternoon. We ordered a variety of small plates and sharing platters and each and every item was delicious 😋 . We loved it so much we asked if they could accommodate a party of 11 for lunch the next day. They opened up the second floor for us and had the chef rustle up an amazing off menu Sunday lunch. The food, the service, the views and ambience are second to none.
