Visited the Turkish Kitchen a couple of days ago taking my friend for a birthday treat with a Groupon voucher for a 10 dish Meze for 2. The interior is beautiful with tiled floors & lovely paintings on the walls. Toilets on the ground floor too. We were greeted straight away by a lovely waitress who showed us to our table & it was pleasing to see local people enjoying the cuisine. We ordered drinks & she then explained it wasn't a set meze we could choose 5 dishes from the cold starters & 5 from the hot. The first food to arrive was a dish of salads prepared different ways plus a basket of pitta bread & 2 side dips. This was followed by a dish with olives, stuffed vine leaves, tomato salad & a creamy cooling dish I'm nit sure wgat it was called but delicious. Next was grilled haloumi cheese & samosas & a beetroot salad. We were starting to flag but then out came the king prawns & my favourite a minced lamb & beef dish with peppers in a really tasty sauce, these last 2 dishes carried a small additional price but were well worth it. Everything was delicious, garnished beautifully & tasted so fresh & our waitress told us they bought everything fresh from the market next door. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit & if you want real authentic Turkish cuisine this place is a must. I think there was some disabled parking on the street but there is a multi story car park just around the corner a few mins walk away. We wish we lived nearer so we could visit more often.

Beautiful Turkish restaurant on the high road. Very large and spacious place. Lovely traditional Turkish decor and fixtures. Very friendly and polite staff. Drinks and starters came very quickly. Salad was fresh, crunchy and bread was freshly cooked and you could eat it without the sauces. We ordered a mixture of soft drinks, cocktails and aryan drink. We order two large platters for 7 people. Platter food didn’t take too long and come beautifully presented, hot, fresh and tender. There was no smell of the coal and bbq. The meat was very tender and delicious. The amount was very generous with a good range of meat, rice, chops, ribs, shawarma and kebabs. Staff were always ready to offer refills. Turkish tea and mint tea was offered at end. Tables and plates etc were removed before giving us tea. You did not feel rushed and felt relaxed while eating and enjoying the food and company. Thank you for your service and quality food.

I came here for a celebration with friends. As we entered the staff were welcoming and friendly, we were quickly provided a table. We were given ample time to browse the menu for food and drinks. The server who took our order was patient and knowledgeable when some of my friends asked what certain items on the menu were or what they contained. Our drinks arrived quickly and there was a short wait for our food to arrive. my order was well presented and looked delicious. However, it was not all that hot and my fries went cold very quickly. The store was clean, tidy and beautifully decorated, giving off a very warm welcoming atmosphere. We all paid separately and the staff were again friendly and wished us well as we were leaving.

Booked here for a family meal, after reading the reviews we thought we would take a chance and try the turkish kitchen as we've tried many cuisines over the years and not Turkish food for a while. We were met with a friendly smile but I was a little put off by the layout and decor of the place. The front is a take away service, which is off putting for those who come to eat as a family especially where the venue is situated.

Our server was lovely, we waited a good 10 minutes before we were served, which was a little irksome as the place only had 2 other tables that were occupied and we had a child with us. When our order was taken by the lovely Cuban waitress (we didn't get her name) we thought we would try a few small dishes.

We ordered: Lamb ribs Turkish salad Lamb tagine And chicken skewers for the little one.

Within 2 minutes of our order being taken we had food delivered to our table. Shame it was someone else's food (and it looked awful)

Half an hour after ordering (again still just us and two other tables!l we finally recieved bread, a dish of our Turkish salad and drinks.

The bread was delicious! But the salad was not at all as described, instead of the turkish special salad (its pomegranate, onions tomatoes and peppers with a fes other bits) we ended up with a salad from the take away section!

Waitress apologised and took it off our bill.

When our main food arrived (a good 40 minutes after ordering) it was dreadful

My daughters meal was supposed to come with chips and salads and be on skewers. It came with cold chips and chicken plonked on a plate.

My mothers was lamb tagine with rice and salad, she ended up with an okra tagine with a tiny bite of lamb, rice chips! And no salad. It was awful, if she wanted an okra tagine then she would have ordered one.

Lamb ribs: this was also supposed to come with salad and rice, what I had was fatty tiny ribs with barely a spec of meat on them, cold rice and no salad. It was inedible even after trying to add flavour to it with chili sauce.

For an birthday meal, I was thoroughly disappointed, it didnt end up a happy birthday. We had a polite disagreement with the owner over everything and he promised to take my awful meal and the wrong salad off the bill.

When we went to pay, the salad was still on the bill and we had to then argue the issue a little more.

Overall the only redeeming quality was pur waitress, who I wanted to tip bit management wouldn't allow it! Which is most upsetting. As a female buisness owner I feel it's always always imperative to tip waitresses or those who provide a service as this is often much needed garnish to wages. To be dominated in such an awful manner by the owner thoroughly disgusted me and she should have been allowed a tip as she was the only one to earn it!

Lastly. While we were waiting and while.we were eating we saw staff walking back and forth the floor with uncooked meat on display, uncooked bloody meat in carrier bags! Dripping everywhere and various other uncooked food being carted back and forth. Most unhygienic and makes you worry about the cleanliness and hygiene

We would never attend again, not just because of the bad food but 100 percent because of the poor treatment of the waitresses, to be treated like a second class citizen in front of customers made my...

This is just some honest description of my experience there. In a word, disappointing; two words, disappointing and unpleasant. First time and last time experience. I went there for a quick lunch set ("wrap, served with salad, chips and a drink") and sat down but waited for a relatively long time for someone to attend to me. I then ordered a VEG Turkish bread wrap and look forward to it. What came was a FALAFEL wrap WITHOUT salad, and not Turkish bread but thin wrap. I thought maybe that was what they meant by veg wrap? But clearly on the menu there were veg wrap and falafel wrap... I did not want to waste food so I slowly forced it down after I asked about the salad. The first reply for the salad was "he (chef) put inside the wrap" and I smilingly questioned "served with" should be on the plate? The waitress later brought some salad. The wrap was dry and not much taste (for someone who don't take heavy flavoured food). When she came to clear the table I asked about the veg wrap and falafel wrap and she admitted it was not made properly as the chef was new and she had told him(off). But, if you already noticed that and still brought it to the customer, you do not really care about or respect your customer. I did not say that to her as she seemed apologetic and later brought a baklava (as compensation?). Unfortunately the baklava did not really do the job because it was not fresh, but heavy, cold and soggy. As I went to pay, I saw the tray where she took the baklava from. There were a lot of seemingly fresher baklava (as they were a different type and in large quantity, well organised). I was once again disappointed and she said see you next time. I am not sure if I want a...

Arrived and walked in to no staff greeting us. Asked for a table for 2 as we had booked and were just told to sit at the back of the restaurant and weren't escorted to our table which was the first sign of this meal going to be a disaster.

Sat down, waited approximately 15 minutes for someone to finally come over and take our drink order then waited another 15 minutes for them to be brought to the table. Only for the waiter to then spill the drink on me.

Anyway food ordered after waiting another 10 minutes ordered starters and main. Main came within 2 minutes of finishing our starter, the main arrived on its own and mine was nowhere to be seen. We had both ordered the same. Adana kebab. Nearly 30 minutes passed my partner has finished her food and we get up and ask the waitress where our second meal was. To be fair she did apologise but it wasn't crazy busy there the service is very poor and they don't know how to serve customers at all.

So my partner ate here food alone and so did I. Very disappointing as this was our date night and we were looking forward to it.

We booked theough Groupon so had paid for our meal. The waitress only offered to cover our drinks for the evening and not compensate the meal. Put a downer on the whole evening and this isn't the first time this has happened.

I've been here 3 times and on every occassion the food has been very good but the service has been appalling. Nobody clearing dishes, having to ask staff for drinks etc. Simply not on for a restaurant.

Won't be returning even if the food is lovely as the service as stated is terrible and needs...
