Kwei Lin is exactly what you'd expect from a Chinese restaurant. A great selection of dishes, good vegan and vegetarian options and tasty food. The only reason we gave it four stars was because it is exactly what you'd expect. The interiors could do with a bit of sprucing up and the menus could do with replacing too. The staff were really friendly and knowledgeable, they were also very busy when we got there, which is always a good sign! Oh and it's also the only place I've had salt and pepper chips that were saucy. But they were tasty!

Quite tasty. We took ours away. We were on holiday from the Midlands and the food tasted quite different from any chinese restaurant near to us at home. The dishes were much sweeter. I enjoyed the sweet and sour chicken. But my girlfriend was slightly disappointed at the beef curry. It just didn't taste like we are used too. I would recommend but bear in mind it was quite different from what we were used too.

Was a bit dark inside but the food on the whole was very good, I enjoyed being able to have steamed buns and the beef with honey and red dates which are not standard options. The hoisin sauce looked to have been microwaved, was the first time I've had it served warm, think I cold but the sauce itself was tasty.

I wouldn't give this 'restaruant' one star. Unfortunately, all the good restaraunts are closed in Buxton on a Monday and the others fully booked. Bad from start to finish. Seated for half an hour and had to ask for someone to take our order. Set meal B. This came out nothing like the starter on the menu. I had to go to the bar to ask where our drinks were, food and no drinks. Just happened to look at the menu, and our starter resembled nothing to what we actually ordered. We sent it back hearing a big argument from the kitchen. We were then brought out two of the missing items, but no spring rolls and no plates. Next the duck course and again no plates. Lots of apologies, but this is no way to run a 'restaurant'. We asked for the bill had to pay more as no change. Guess what, they kept the change, bloody cheek, you have to earn a tip, really!!! . We asked for our change, the only tip I can give is vastly improve your front of house....

We went here on the Saturday based on the positive reviews. However i was really disappointed. It was like we had come to a different restaurant. We had the set menu for £15.95. For me it was just too much deep fried stuff with batter on it and the lemon chicken was way too sweet. Perhaps choosing something off the menu instead was a better options but personally I wouldn't risk it again. The meal seemed way over priced for the quality of food. Also we had to ask for the coffee at the end which the waiter didnt seem to know was in with the meal. However when it came it tasted like the cheapest strongest instant coffee you can imagine. We couldnt drink it. Went to this place with positive expections but definitely would not go back. In addition to the food I felt there was no real chinese vibe. Staff were mainly English with contemporary rock/pop music being played in the background. Sorry to give...

Well, what an experience! Whilst we were surprised all the staff were young English girls, something seldom seen in my experience in Chinese restaurants. The food was of a reasonable quality. However, after finishing our meal one girl came and half cleared our table, we expected her to return for the rest of the rice dishes and plates but no, she and another member of staff came out of the kitchen with plates of food and believe it or not (we couldn’t) they sat on the table next to us and started eating their food. Our table remained half cleared whilst they sat eating and chatting not a yard away from us. I may be wrong but I think this was totally wrong and unprofessional and we paid and left and will not return. Why management would allow this to happen at 8.45pm I have no idea but we will not be visiting again which is a shame as food...
