When i walk in i felt that funky amazing vibe. I felt good, regardless of short waiting before member of staff told me to sit anywhere i want. Hint - if it's nob busy, tale that sign off. So people don't get confused and start to wonder why they are being ignored.
Then came the foidyand tea. But before that i sat another 5 minutes browsing menu and waiting for someone to take my order... Untill i saw in a corner of a table small piece of paper saying scan code for order and pay. Took me a whike to order but that due to not very good reception thanx to EE. Once that was done food was served quickly and efficiently.
Love the way i had tea served. I could have it as strong as i want it. And it was enough for two full cups.
Tapas was good. Well prepared, humus was fresh and falafel... Thats the second best falafel i had. Maybe, just maybe cooked for too long. But then again its not easy to cook falafel. So im just picking up. Because i loved it!
So why 1 star? Well i was almost finished and just wanted to wash my hands. As i walked in into male toilets i saw chief (skini, tall and in his mid 20s) that (i presume) finished doing no2 as he walk out cubicle and didn't even bother to wash his hands and walked straight to kitchen. Kitchen doors are on left and toilet on right. And since i hold the doors for him i saw from where he walk out and to where he was going.
Honestly? If it's not for that visit to toilet, if it's not for what i saw they would earn 5 stars no problems at all. But because i saw bloke dressed in black chief outfit with hat like cooks wear in kitchen... Because of the fact i was thinking - was he the one who prepared my food? And if so did he wash his hands... Because of that hygiene failure i can only give lowest possible rating. And i can't recommended it...

Ordering was by app so I didn't have a lot of interaction with staff. They did come over and ask if the little one with us wanted to have a free snack, which turned out to be a good sized pot of hummus and carrot sticks.
My main was alright, it was an hallumi burger with salad. I was a bit disappointed that it was deep fried in breadcrumbs, a lazy way of cooking hallumi in the UK's restaurants where they want to churn food out quickly. My friends all had chicken, all deep fried in breadcrumbs. Made me realise its all probably getting deep fried together, meat and vegetarian, which turned my stomach a little, but I didn't check/ask. Salad had the tiniest bit of dressing trickled on it. All fine, just not top marks from me.
I'd be happy eating here again, convenient in the town centre near...
Read moreThree stars for the awesome, friendly and welcoming staff, and of course the quirky decor. Unfortunately I can't go any higher than that, as the portion size in comparison to the price seemed a tad on the stingy side. Especially for the boyfriend's chilli bowl, there was more rice than chilli. I had the plant-based burger, which was lovely, but again very small on the accompaniments. I loved my pink lemonade, just wish when ordering (via an online link) that I could have had the option for no ice, as the glass was a bit crammed with the stuff. Like I said above, all the staff we met were absolutely lovely and helpful, and none of these issues are their fault as I understand that they're at the mercy of corporate instructions. I know my boyfriend was disappointed in the size of his meal, but did admit it was tasty. Hopefully one day we'll be back to visit, and see if it's any different. I mean, I'm happy to have that vegan burger again,...
