As a vegan, I like to do my research on places before I go to visit and The Herb Garden promised a lot as a vegan/vegetarian cafe. I'd recommend booking if you want to go as we couldn't get a table but we sat in the park opposite.

The service was great, everyone was cheery and polite but unfortunately the food wasn't that good. The takeaway menu is much smaller than the regular menu, which we found surprising. That being said, there were still a lot of options and we went for the spicy bean quesadillas and a portion of lentil dahl.

I think a lot of vegans and possibly vegetarians will be glad that there's a place that has a load of options and that may sway their experience but for me the food needs to carry a place, not what it offers. I also want to be able to taste something better than what I can cook myself.

The quesadillas weren't really spicy. Which you could get away with to be fair, as spice is subjective but they just didn't taste of much and the beans hadn't been cooked long enough and were hard (they were hard, not al dente in case you're wondering 🤣). The best part was the crispy bread.

The dahl on the other hand was totally over spiced and lacked any nuance of flavour.

Neither thing was offensive, it was all edible but it just felt complacent. It might be that they were having an off day or were busy but I won't be going back. I think one thing being off can be a mistake but two things isn't great as every order needs due care...

Came here one day after stumbling upon the sign on the main high street, and so glad I did. The atmosphere is so lovely and welcoming, the staff are incredibly accomodating and friendly. I'm naturally quite shy and I felt no anxiety in here. The food is tasty, the vegan options are extensive, not to mention such a good price! I decided to come back since I loved it so much and even though they were busy inside, they moved a table from outside in, just so I could avoid the tempermental weather. They went above and beyond and seem to genuinely care about what they're doing here. I cannot recommend this place enough! Cafés like this are a dying breed, it's truly a gem and probably one of my favourite little establishments I've been to in a very long time. I wish them all the success as they...

Looking from the outside I wasn't sure if this cafe would be any better/worse than any other. Upon entering we were very warmly greeted by a very cheerful and enthusiastic team. Tick. I was torn what food to order as it all sounded nice. When our meal arrived it looked and smelled great but the magic happened on the first taste - WOW, what a flavour fest! Absolutely wonderful food and drinks (the home made Ginger Latte was really nice), I can't recommend highly enough, go there and enjoy! And after the food, cake and drinks we ended up chatting to the owner for ages. A perfect lunch out experience, thanks,...

I had the bowl of goodness Buddha bowl - I wouldn’t get this again, also tried the soup which was lovely and the French bread pizza which was ok. I had a peppermint tea as the chai wasn’t vegan plus we shared the vanilla sponge cake and the cherry and almond cake, both delicious. It all came to £22.70, so very reasonable. They accept card payments. Service was great, cafe was small so I would recommend booking. There’s free parking outside if you can get it for an hour or you can use the pay and display at Waitrose and it’s a 5 minute walk.

What a find, a hidden gem for vegans and vegetarians. Cosy friendly cafe with a lovely vibe. Amazing menu with great choice. Husband and I had vegan hot chocolate with squash and lentil soup and a warm roll To finish we shared ginger cake and ice cream which was the best I've tasted. 10 out of 10 to the owners of this lovely cafe They even have a menu for takeaway frozen meals and are taking bookings for Christmas cakes and Christmas Dinner takeout.
