Fat Annie's — Restaurant in Leeds

I think there comes a point when the owner of this business has to take on the feedback that multiple reviews raise, it's really not all that obvious that the food from this establishment is 100% plant based. Admittedly, their menu does state that they're meat free, but it's really not all that prominent and very easy to miss. The burgers description lists them as a 'beef style smash patty', the cheese has the s replaced by a z (cheeze), and the e in chicken is substituted by an apostrophe (chick'n). Now whilst these are commonly used terms in this market to anyone not used to such terminology it's pretty easy to see why they might feel deceived. The dogs are all individually listed as tofu dogs though, so no real chance for confusion there.

In terms of the food itself, the burger was fine, they do a good job of roughly replicating the taste of a beef burger although it did taste a bit like a Rustlers burger. The fries were delicious though, they come highly recommended.

All in all, I think the price is fair, the food is solid but the presentation of the menu and the branding of the location could dk with an update to truly reflect them...

Went here yesterday (19th March) around 4.15pm .. ordered a Royale With Cheese Burger. To let you know when your order is ready for collection, they gave me a device which went Green when ready .. great if it’s really busy so you don’t need to keep going over or looking or ‘hogging’ the counter .. great idea! 😊 When the Burger was ready, I tried it .. and, I have to say, after been a ‘vegi’ for 47 years, this is most DEFINITELY THE BEST VEGI BURGER I HAVE EVER TASTED!! No doubt about it! 🤩🥰🍔 It was that good, that my partner, who knows I am pretty fussy about ordering and eating vegi burgers btw, came home with one today after work .. fab surprise! And have to say, was just as tasty as yesterday’s aswell!! This is DEFINITELY off to be a magnet for me in future when I am hungry because I know that I will enjoy it. If I could I would award it more than 5 stars due to the quality of the food, friendly service, cleanliness to name but a few things. KEEP UP THE GOOD FOOD...

Was excited to try this place as it was a vegan friendly place and looked to be busy and popular. Was informed when trying to order gluten free that they couldn’t do gluten free right now because they had too many orders and would have to wipe down and do it on a whole different section. Do not offer gluten free options if you cannot provide them 100% of the time. There was no offer to wait a little longer for a gluten free alternative (which we would’ve been happy to do) so my partner chose something else. The food itself was ok, plant based patties were nice and bun was lovely and soft but there was far far too much sauce on the burger which made it sloppy and messily presented, and my partner was left disappointed as she was only able to have chips due to them not wanting to be...
