To be honest to this restaurant, this was one of the better tasting Indian food I have had in Central London area.

In my opinion, many Indian restaurants water down the authenticity so it can cater to a wider local audience. Nonetheless the food served at Bombay Palace straddled a fine line between being a British Indian cuisine and authentic Indian cuisine. And it succeeds in that regard. This success can be ascertained by the crowd that dine at the restaurant, consisting of both British and Indian customers. Depending on what kind of Indian food you like, there is a going to British Indian food like Madras curry and Tikka Masala, or OG Indian food like chaat and momos. You won't be stuck without options.

We ordered the ragda pattice chaat, tandoori mixed grill platter, missi roti, paneer kulcha and chicken Tikka masala. The Tikka Masala and Mixed Grill were the best ones we have had in UK. No doubts about that. The portions were good too as the two of us were full and couldn't finish off the platter and Tikka masala.

Now the reasons why we can't give them a 5/5 score are because: Chaat item was just average. Missi roti was also really dry and hard to tear easily. The food felt a bit overpriced for the overall experience. The vibe and decor of the hotel felt like it was stuck in the 1990s and would really need to upgrade to reflect how other premium Indian restaurants are in London.

In the end I came out of the restaurant with a full belly and happy experience. I will recommend this place especially if you are looking to have a group dinner just because of the sheer variety of Indian food you...

This was our first visit at Bombay Palace. We entered with zero expectations considering it as one of the many Indian restaurants that we have visited during our stay of one year in the UK. After dining here, we felt that our search was over, and we have found a place that we can visit again and again. From the moment we stepped inside, the warm and inviting ambiance set the stage for a memorable culinary adventure.

The menu showcased a diverse selection of regional Indian dishes. The flavors were vibrant, robust, and perfectly balanced, providing a truly immersive taste of India. Whether it was the kebabs, the rich curries, or the tantalizing street food, every dish surpassed my expectations. One standout dish that left a lasting impression was the butter chicken. Pairing it with freshly baked naan bread elevated the experience to new heights as most places we dined at in the past were serving precooked re-heated breads. The menu also featured an array of vegetarian options that were equally enticing, catering to all palates.

While the overall experience was exceptional, the only area where the restaurant fell slightly short was the waiting time for food (The food was worth the wait). However, the staff's attentiveness and the ambiance of the restaurant compensated for this minor inconvenience. Special mention to the manager, I couldn't get his name as he was always busy attending to all the tables. He was simply amusing and his punny anecdotes kept us entertained.

In conclusion, Bombay Palace is an absolute must-visit for anyone seeking an unforgettable Indian...

A Culinary Gem in Connaught Village

Nestled in the elegant enclave of Connaught Village, The Bombay Palace stands as a beacon of authentic Indian cuisine, seamlessly blending traditional flavors with contemporary flair. Having dined here numerous times, the restaurant consistently delivers an exceptional gastronomic experience.

Delectable Delights

The momos are a standout, offering a delightful burst of flavors in every bite. The Madras curry, rich and aromatic, is arguably the finest I’ve tasted in London. Complementing the food is an impressive array of cocktails, each crafted with precision and creativity. The Irish coffees are a particular highlight, showcasing the bar’s versatility and commitment to excellence.

Ambiance & Service

The ambiance is understated elegance, providing a warm and inviting atmosphere perfect for both casual dinners and special occasions. The staff are attentive and knowledgeable, ensuring that each visit is memorable.

Final Thoughts

The Bombay Palace is more than just a restaurant; it’s a culinary journey that celebrates the rich tapestry of Indian flavors. Whether you’re a seasoned aficionado of Indian cuisine or a curious newcomer, this establishment promises an experience that delights the senses and...

I wish I could give this restaurant 7/5, phenomenal doesn't even cover how great this place is. The staff are all very friendly and did everything they could to make sure we were happy and that we enjoyed everything. The atmosphere was very calm and the inside was beautiful. We were lucky to have Melbourn as our server, he was fantastic. Very attentive and friendly, while also giving us time to enjoy our food. The food was incredibly flavorful, the chef's clearly a master at their craft. The food was mild enough for my wife who can not handle much heat, if you like the heat the way I do I would suggest requesting they make it spicier for you. I've had a lot of Masala Chai and this was one of the best, a perfect amount of spice and not too sweet (meaning it was so good on its own they didn't have to add extra sugar to make it taste good). Definitely the best I've had since we've been in London. If you are visiting the area and enjoy Indian cuisine this restaurant is worth every pound! We enjoyed the food so much we forgot to take a picture of the main courses until they were almost all gone.

This weekend we ventured out of Kent once again and headed into London for a curry at Bombay Palace in Mayfair. We were greeted at the door and led through the busy restaurant to our table by a very polite member of staff. The menu is different from the run of the mill curry house, with many dishes we had not seen before. We spoke to the Staff who were helpful and knowledgeable, offering great recommendations, suggesting 2 dishes one of which wasn't on the menu and ended up being the highlight of our meal. Having not had many curries in London, we were torn as to whether the meal was competitively priced and summed it up as ‘London prices.’ Unfortunately a drink and our naan bread was forgotten and we had to chase for these, but the restaurant was busy and it didn't take away from how flavoursome the food was. Bombay Palace was a busy, lively restaurant that we would have no issue recommending or visiting again. Six Poppadoms Please #6PP
