Saw reviews this was the best coffee at Broadway Market and felt hopeful I could enjoy a nice cuppa even though it was 4.20pm, way past my coffee cut off time. But I thought it'd be worth it if it was that good.

Was given the Broadway Blend (caramel, vanilla, pear) for my latte.

The coffee was just luke warm, and quickly cooled down to tepid. The first sip didn't impress..it was slightly acidic on my palate - not overly much, but there was a hint of sour and slight bitterness. It wasn't very strong, given this is a medium roast, but it wasn't a profile I was immediately fond of. This isn't a rich and creamy Joe, if that's what you're after. I don't hate it, but it becomes forgettable, and I certainly won't be having it again.

The service was OK. Tepid, like their coffee. Coz when I asked about their beans, they were a little defensive, and I had to explain I wanted to know the profile before ordering.

Given the location, this is one of the cheaper coffees I've paid for in London (£3.40).

I got my coffee quickly (fast efficient service) and certainly did not linger around even though there were no other...

Edits: The manager reached out and apologised and offered us free coffees if we chose to come in again. We love their coffee beans but haven’t gone back to the coffee shop again after below incident.

Old Review:

We were in the cafe at broadway market today and were shocked at the appalling service and attitude of the staff at the counter. To start with we were served lattes instead of the cappuccinos that we ordered and when we said we were served wrong coffees, they just added chocolate powder to the lattes and refused to acknowledge there was any difference between the two coffees!

Staff needs a serious...

I love C&S's coffee, delicious filter and great location, nice seating outside. The prices are bit too high, charging £3 for filter coffee (not hand brew) is way too much but I guess they can do it on Broadway market, ok. But the only bad thing about this place is the service. It is way too slow and there is always some small mistake. You ask for cheese and tomato croissant to have in and you get ham one for take away. You ask for cold brew and you get hot filter. Not mentioning the waiting time. Dont get me wrong, I still like this place but it could be way way better, just pay...

Tragically I don't have the opportunity to visit the cafe at Broadway Market nearly as often as I would like to. However, when I do it is always a pleasure; the comfortable, relaxed atmosphere of the cafe is perfect for slowly sipping on their excellent coffees. The food too is equally as good, simple yet wholesome; perfect for brunch or to get you through a long afternoon. The line out the door on weekends is well deserved, although it moves quickly enough that you won't be waiting long. The best time to visit though is during the week when it isn't quite so frantic.

Depends on who makes it, but climpson flat whites and cappuccinos can either be the best in the area (look at that microfoam!!) or just decent. But, when they’re on, they’re on!!! Staff members are absolutely lovely. I personally prefer Climpson to Pavilion, although my partner prefers Pavilion as it’s less milky (important for a flat white) and a bit more consistent. Takeaway only.
