It may be called Bun house, but there's so much more on offer than the delicious pillows here. The buns are great though, and there is a few to choose from. Beef, pork, lamb, chicken, vegetable and custard. Of the savoury ones, we preferred the lamb version. The custard ones are a must but beware, the custard is quite runny and an ill judged angle could result in an unwanted dousing of the bright yellow custard. This place is hugely popular at the moment, so expect a queue. We arrived just as it was opening and just bagged a table upstairs. We had beef, lamb and custard buns at this visit (the pork ones we had last time didn't blow us away) and we ordered the milk ribs, which we sounded interesting. They appeared like your standard Chinese ribs but it looked like they had been braised in a sweet milk to finish them. They were delicious and I could have easily eaten a couple more portions. We also ordered the silken egg rice, which roughly translated meant rice with soy with an omelette on top with prawns, chilli and spring onions. This is quite a simple dish but would recommend this to go with the ribs and buns. We also ordered the French toast with jasmine clotted cream. The French toast was quite standard but was lifted by the clotted cream. If you order take away they give you a pretty box with chopstix as a handle. This is a great place for a lunch in china town and we will definitely be back.

🥢🍜 **Bun House: A Mixed Bag of Bao-tastic Bites in Chinatown!** 🍜🥢 Nestled in the vibrant maze of London’s Chinatown, Bun House is a hotspot that promises quick bites and intriguing flavors. My visit was a culinary rollercoaster, with some highs and lows worth noting. Starting with the 3-pack bao bun takeaway for £11 – let’s just say it didn’t quite hit the mark. The buns were okay, but not the show-stoppers I had hoped for. However, the dim sum? A completely different story. The 3-piece dim sum for £5.50 was nothing short of outstanding. I could have devoured 30 pieces without blinking. Each bite was a little parcel of pure joy, making the dim sum the undeniable star of the menu. The space itself is quite compact, but it has a bathroom – a small but crucial detail for any pit stop. Service was fast and efficient, ensuring you’re in and out with minimal fuss. In summary, Bun House delivers a mixed bag. Skip the bao and dive straight into the dim sum for an unforgettable treat. It’s a small spot with quick service, making it a convenient stop during your Chinatown adventures. 🥟🌟🚶♂️

Found this restaurant on Google suggestions and pictures and reviews sealed the deal to go there for lunch on our second day in London. It was easy to find and had a queue of customers outside that had already ordered takeout, so already showing its popularity i knew it was the right choice. We stepped in and asked if we could eat in, they were just about to open the upstairs part of the restaurant which didn't take long. The atmosphere and service was great, menu is simple but plentiful. We went there with interest in having the buns 2 savoury then 2 custard and some Japanese milk tea. I ordered the beef my sister ordered the chicken, both were delicious and filled with plenty of filling. The custard buns were also delicious although a little runnier than expected, its not thick custard like you get in donuts so be warned if your going to dig right in, it was just the right amount off sweetness to it not overly sweet at all. Would go again.

My uncle and I went to Bun House last Wednesday, and we had a great time! We ordered the pork buns, the classic wonton soup, pork cutlet with pineaple and egg, crispy tofu and crispy squid. The food was delicious, I especially loved the pork cutlet (speaking as someone who doesn't usually like pork). The buns are very good and the dough is soft and fluffy. The tofu had a pretty sweet sauce, so it tasted more like desert. We dipped it in the wonton soup and it tasted great like that too. The portions weren't very big, but what we ordered was enough for two. Overall, we had a very good experience! Our waiter was very nice and friendly (drop by whenever you're in NL). I work at a restaurant myself, so I know how hard it can be to juggle the chaos of the kitchen while trying to be friendly and provide good service to the customers. Although it is a bit pricey for my taste, I went back to get the chilled buns for take away before going back home

buns were amazingly good and nothing like i’ve had before, ever, very unique and tasty, soft but also chewy but in a good way, beef and lamb feeling was bomb, very tasty. although i’d recommend to order as a takeout because the service in a local itself is very rude and not professional, me and my friends waited around half an hour to even order and then about twenty minutes to get our food, the waitress who served us wasn’t friendly or helpful, while being asked what buns are the best she said she simply doesn’t know and then while giving us our order she didn’t even tell which buns were which and we needed to guess (there were 3 of us and we ordered totally different things) she was also speaking very quietly in an overall loud local, then they charged as extra for the service, we didn’t want to argue but i think it’s ridiculous after a "treatment" that we were given. good food but not service, go for a takeout besties ;)
