I have been a regular customer for you guys for a long time even after founding hair in my food twice but this time I have everything on camera you have called security on me inside your shop because of asked for one of the staff's name after she was very rude to me and hang up the phone as well when I was talking to her on the phone Alex the supervisor apparently not to the general manager he said that I was very aggressive knowing that everything was getting recorded on camera while I was talking to him I was not aggressive at all even after the security arrived they saw the video they laughed and they walked away and they apologise to me for disturbing my peace they were very professional not like your shop they actually assess the situation did not take any side and they made their decision wisely cannot see the same about your shop I will be definitely make another complaint in your main head office in Doha I will be arriving there in 1 week I will take special time only to resolve the issue in one of my favourite shops in London or I will open a competition to provide something you don't have (customer satisfaction) I will include picture of supervisor card and the ladies name who was rude to me on the phone hang up for no reason refuse to share her name when I made a complaint this is why they called security on me saying that I have been raising my voice and making a scene which you can see clearly I wasn't on video (very disappointed) never coming back there again will advice all my clients and customers to not go there as well until a serious change will happen in your services. By the way the whole issue started when the supervisor refuse to give me a refund back on my debit card that I paid with offered me a refund with cash which I refused as it is my right to get my money back on my card and this is why he called security he did not know how to do the refund or he was very lazy to do it. Then apparently I was very aggressive by the time he called security I was already outside the store when the security looked at the video they realised the supervisor was lying because everything was recorded on video. Shame on you chapati karak you should do something about it people will not be quiet for a long time.

Chapati and Karak is a Qatari café that specialise in milky tea and unleavened bread with a branch opposite Harrods in Knightsbridge very much frequented by Middle Eastern clients. As I entered the café, the place looked very arabesque; lots of cosy booths and even one cushioned area for sitting on the floor. It was very crowded so I ordered a take away Karak and Chapati. The Karak arrived piping hot and tasted delicious. It is a tea made with condensed milk and spices However, it was a little too sweet for my liking. Fortunately, I had opted for their plain Chapati bread which arrived warm and paired well with the sweet tea. It resembled a tortilla. It also comes in other flavours such as Nutella, cinnamon, cheese, egg and tomato, minced meat and peas. A plain chapati at £4.00 and a Karak between £3.00 – 4.00 is expensive but after all it is opposite Harrods. Service was prompt. The café had soft arabic music playing in the background reflecting the culture of the Gulf region. However, it is originally from India and became an integral part of Qatari food in the 1950s. If you happen to be doing some late night shopping why not stop over for a snack and some Karak tea - a soul warming experience.

Been here multiple times now and since my first visit, i have to say my opinion hasnt changed, its not all that great. On my most recent visit i thought id try something other than the sweet chapati, so i got the cinnamon one, smelt lovely, didn't taste that nice! I personally think the pre made shaan parathas that you can buy and make at home taste better (just add a little honey). The karak chai also wasnt that great! It wasnt sweet or tasty (for me). I heard the karak shake was nicer, so might be one to try next time. The mint tea is also really strong, they add a tea bag and it gets really strong if you leave it in the cup, so unless you like your mint tea black and strong i would suggest you dont leave the tea bag in the cup for too long (lesson learnt for next time). Iv found that the service isn't the best either unfortunately, its difficult to get the attention of the staff to serve you/ask for your bill (i guess with it being busy in there that might be expected) but on a positive note, once you do order, they bring out the food/drink(s) pretty fast.

I found visiting this Qatari style teahouse to be a really interesting cultural experience. The menu is extremely simple - as the name suggests they really do just serve chapatis (plain or sweet) and karak (a kind of tea - a Qatari twist on Indian chai), which you can enjoy in the exotic Middle Eastern decor.

I had a plain chapati, a sweet chapati, and a cinnamon karak. Let's get one thing clear, the plain chapati really is quite plain. It is wonderfully freshly cooked, quite possibly the best plain chapati I've had, but it is still a plain chapati, which some people might find a bit, well, boring. They make a point of explaining they don't sell cheese, as it seems quite a lot of people ask for it - some people even bring their own. Not the first thing that would have come to mind, but yes, I can imagine that the plain chapati would probably have been very nice with a bit of cheese.

I preferred the sweet chapati which was also wonderfully fresh, the sweetness just made it that bit more interesting, and I thought it went better with the tea, which was also quite sweet.

I really liked the cinnamon karak. Sweet and fragrant. It was a bit odd to me that they only serve the drinks in take away style paper cups - given the effort they've put into the decor you'd think they might have some nice crockery etc, but perhaps this is consistent with the original experience in Qatar.

The staff were very pleasant, and considering the wealthy clientèle they appear to draw it's all pretty reasonably priced - chapatis £3 or £4,...

Me and my husband visited this place yesterday for the very first time. I was really excited to try all. As I didn’t know if I need to ask for table or I can just sit at any free table. We were standing for a while with hope someone will come to us but staff were just passing us so I have finally asked a waitress for a table and she told us all are busy right now but seats on the floor are available so we went there but come on there were really dirty and I couldn’t cope to eat on it while watching everyone else enjoying eating on the clean tables. But as there was nowhere else to seat I have finally sat on this floor. In meantime my husband went to toilet someone just left a table so on his way back to me he called me to the table and while getting comfy there after a second of reaching to the table a waitress came in less than a minute to tell us that this table is for 5 people so we can’t sit there. I was really upset as she told us to seat on the floor where easily 8 people can seat but she didn’t allow us to seat on the table of 5 ... I just felt so disrespected. Some customers occupied tables with no eating or drinking anything just playing with mobiles while we look for a place to seat. Also majority customers were Arabic so me as a white girl I felt like a shadow with no respect at all. Not sure if I will...
