Came to Clap for their brunch which has unlimited starters, a choice of main and a dessert to share. If you're into sushi and sashimi, you'll love this place. Starters are laid out across a bar and you can help yourself to it throughout your meal. It stops being replenished at 2.30pm so make sure you go as soon as it starts (12.30) so you get as much time as possible. What makes this great value for money is the variety of sashimi available as part of the all you can eat. There is salmon, tuna and hamachi sashimi. You won't be getting yellow fin tuna but this is still great value for money. You'll also have a variety of nigiri (one with seabass) some maki and urumaki too. There was what I could only describe as a prawn tower with just cooked prawns piled up. The prawns had no seasoning or sauce so it was like it was literally just boiled prawns that had now cooled down. Netherless we were stuffed by the time we gave our host the nod that we wanted mains. Of the mains, most opted for the teriyaki salmon which was really very good. An alternative that some tried was the pistachio crusted baby chicken which was nice but some found a little dry. By this point we were quite happy to be sharing desserts between two people as there was no space for more. On top of all this we opted for the premium drinks package which gave us unlimited wine, beer, champagne (VC brand) and cocktails from a selection, for 1hr 30min. Our host, Sara, was fantastic. She ensured we were kept topped up at all times, even as we waited for cocktails to be made. Not a moment went by where we had an empty glass infront of us. Overall, this is a pricey meal but we felt was great value for money.

A Hidden Gem of Japanese Culinary Excellence Behind Harrods I recently had the pleasure of dining at what I can confidently call one of the best Japanese restaurants I’ve experienced—and it truly deserves to be called a hidden gem. The highlight of the evening was undoubtedly the black cod. Never have I tasted such a wonderfully executed dish—the fish was incredibly fresh, delicately cooked to perfection, and glazed with a sauce that was nothing short of brilliant. What made it even more exceptional was the fact that the sauce was served generously—something that is rarely done, but here, it elevated the dish to a whole new level. Equally impressive were the seaweed salad simple yet outstanding in flavor and presentation. The textures, the freshness, the balance—everything was on point. Broccoli was missed out but still overall experience was impressive I also tried the sashimi, which was undeniably fresh and well-prepared, though I felt the portion size could have been slightly more generous. That said, it did not take away from the overall excellence of the meal. The service was prompt, efficient, and warm—attentive without being intrusive. The ambience is tastefully done, with a beautiful modern Japanese decor that complements the experience. Perched on the top floor just behind Harrods, the location is not only convenient but also offers a quiet escape from the busy streets below. All in all, this restaurant is a must-try for any Japanese food enthusiast. It is a hidden gem that delivers quality, atmosphere, and service in equal measure. I’ll definitely be returning.

I was at Clap knightsbridge last night for my close friends birthday, all the girls got dressed up and enjoyed amazing sushi and lovely wine recommended by the waitress. We were seated downstairs had a lovely experience and the wait staff suggested we move the party upstairs where the dj is to continue the birthday festivities. The terrace was closed due to it being in a residential area which was understandable so me and the birthday girl went outside to smoke, as i was walking past the tables of the restaurant my heel got caught in a random hole in the and i tripped, the staff saw this and pulled my shoe out, they apologized and said they would give me something complimentary i just laughed it off and said dont worry because i work in hospitality and didnt want to make a big deal. Came back enjoed some more drinks & the bill came we noticed they hadnt charged us for our food downstairs so we told them we didnt pay for dinner and to add that. They brought back the bill and we had been overcharged on various things and the management acted as if they were doing us a favour removing the drinks we had clearly Not drank because the empty glasses were on the table and an extra dessert we did not consume either. They then came back and apologized and said they had added the table next to ours drinks on our bill. I had heard the owner of Clap is lebanese so i was so proud to go and know someone from my homeland is thriving in the business world but unfortunately i wont be going back. All in all a lovely experience until that drama at the end.

Booked a few weeks in advance, was disappointed (though some elements are fine). We had to dine from one of their set menus as were a small group (went for £80pp option). Sent an email to the manager the following day and received a disappointing reply. Having spent £140+pp and not to have received all of our food is a poor show. So have decided to post on here:

EMAIL:

I am emailing to provide feedback on my dining experience at Clap last night.

Overall, my group of six diners enjoyed our time at your restaurant. However, I feel it is important to offer some constructive feedback in the hopes of enhancing future dining experiences and fostering continual improvement.

We arrived for our 8:30pm reservation and started our evening with drinks at your upstairs bar. I must commend the professionalism and attentiveness of your door staff and greeters, as the transition between different areas of your establishment was seamless.

Once seated at our upstairs bar table (pre drinks), we encountered some issues with service. Despite the presence of many staff members, we found it challenging to get anyone's attention to take our drink orders. This lack of attentiveness was disappointing and detracted from the overall experience.

Additionally once at our dining table, a little after 8:30pm, the timing and presentation of our meal left something to be desired. Courses were brought out separately, rather than together as expected from the menu description (For example: Crispy Rice first, Edamame served as a next separate course- very strange. Then the squid and then the salad. How odd). This resulted in a v slow progression of the meal, with over an hour passing before we received our sushi course. Furthermore, the main course was significantly delayed, with only one half of the main dishes arriving by nearly 11pm (Salmon only). Unfortunately, the other half of the main course, including the Pistachio crusted baby chicken (which 2 of the non-salmon eaters in our party were waiting for), was never served to us because by the time it was getting past 11pm we no longer wanted to/could eat.

As a result, we felt that we did not receive the full value of the set menu we paid for. While we appreciated the offer of a round of drinks at the bar after dinner, it was disappointing to realise the extent of what we missed out on after reviewing the set menu this morning (no chicken, no aubergine and none of the desserts).

I understand that Clap is a new and popular restaurant, but I hope that you will take this feedback seriously and address the issues with service and kitchen timing. Consistency and attention to detail are key to retaining repeat business, and I believe that with some adjustments, Clap can thrive and provide exceptional dining experiences.

Thank you for taking the time to consider my feedback. I look forward to seeing improvements in the future and potentially revisiting Clap. under more favourable circumstances.

REPLY:

Sorry for my late reply, I was off work in the last couple of days.

Thank you very much for your accurate feedback.

All the details have been passed to the respective departments in order to improve our guest experience.

We take feedback very seriously as we recently open the restaurant.

On behalf of the team we wish you a great week ahead and we hope to...

To revert your reply below - your staff had to haggle with us over a glass of sake/ champagne They didn’t even inform if we would like any last order we only got poured first glass at 152 pm and seems like you counted from 135 pm.

Train ur staff better. I m entitled to write a bad review here because your staff was extremely unprofessional and unkind. If you don’t like to give ur customers free flow then don’t offer it.

It’s ridiculous and you just come across as a shameful establishment

I recommend everyone to go to sexy fish or Roka which serve weekend brunch with better attitude , service and vibe.

Sincerely A very disgruntled and traumatised customer

Terrible Experience at Clap Knightsbridge – Avoid at All Costs!

I can’t even begin to describe how awful my experience at Clap Knightsbridge was. I came for the premium bottomless brunch, and not only was the service ridiculously slow, but the staff and management were incredibly stingy and unprofessional.

First off, they refused to serve my last drink even though the time wasn’t up, claiming the 1.5-hour limit had lapsed. The first drink took so long to arrive that I’m pretty sure it wasn’t even remotely close to the time limit. But what really crossed the line was when they took away my champagne—after I had already taken a sip! They offered me a measly glass of sake instead of the full carafe that was supposed to be included, and then they actually had to haggle with me about it. I couldn’t believe it.

Then came the “premium” black cod, which I topped up £18 for. It was tough, bland, and nothing close to what I expected from a place like this. The buffet spread was incredibly underwhelming—barely any variety and not worth the price. Everything felt cheap, like they were cutting corners at every turn.

Bottomless drinks? Don’t be fooled. The staff was so tight with the drinks that it felt like they were counting every drop. Definitely not worth it for what they advertise. The service was poor, and the entire experience left a bad taste in my mouth.

I strongly advise against coming here. The management clearly has no regard for quality or customer satisfaction. I won’t be returning, and I suggest you avoid this place at all costs!

I want to start this review with saying the floor staff, bar staff and food quality is great.

I went here for my birthday dinner and the waiter accidentally poured a drink all over my guests expensive trousers. Accidents happen. But a venue of this “quality” should understand it’s all about experience. At that time we were half way through our meal, and our friend had to leave because he was soaked, sticky and was wearing white trousers that a red drink had been poured on.

We were directed to the “manager” called Seng. I cannot emphasise enough that this man needs to be let go with immediate effect is this venue is to have any chance in the London hospitality market. He’s letting down the rest of the amazing staff in this venue.

He came over and offered to pay “the dry cleaning bill if the guests bring the receipt back in”.

I want to say to anyone reading this - imagine if the same had happened to your wife / dearly loved on their birthday and her evening was ruined and the offer was her to get it dry cleaned and give them the bill + the service charge off. I pray you don’t have the same experience.

We asked for 50% off the bill (considering he spilt a £25 drink on a £1000 pair of trousers, and my friend would have to pay to get home, change, come back, let alone then later taking time out to get his trousers dry cleaned and return the receipt to the venue.) This was the suggestion of Seng.

Even the bar manager said the offering was embarrasing.

We then later found out the company director was on the premises (he was never made aware until we were walking out because Seng said he was only one we could deal with).

Stay away with all your guests from this venue as long as the customer experience team is this terrible.

P.s - We saw him having issues with multiple guests beyond us - all unhappily leaving.

Birthday ruined. Guests night ruined. Will not be back until Seng is no...
