An easy 5*s for the food - good portion sizes and generous amounts of scrambled egg on the orders. Coffee was also lovely, and the two chaps behind the counter and the lady that served us this morning were incredibly friendly.
The 3* rating is due to the fact that we sat on a table by the door which wouldn’t shut properly - meaning the -2 degree air was making us very cold. We moved to a table at the back, to be told, by a really quite curt and unhelpful floor manager, once we’d moved all our stuff over to the table that seeing as there were only two of us, he wouldn’t allow us to stay there (it was a table that could accommodate four people). I explained the situation, and that we’d move if four people came in, but he refused to accommodate.
Fortunately two people let us know they were leaving so we didn’t have to move back to the table by the door - allowing us full view of the empty four person table for the remaining 30 minutes of our stay.
If we’re paying £50 for eggs it doesn’t seem unreasonable that we should expect to be warm. We were not the only cold table in there (we received a similar complaint from a couple of ladies next to us) - I would strongly recommend...
Read moreI visited Route cafe on Broadway Market around 3 PM on a busy Saturday afternoon. While the market outside was bustling with people, inside Route was calm and quiet—a nice escape from the crowd.
I needed a place to work on my laptop while waiting for a friend, so I asked if it was okay to stay for a few hours. The staff were very accommodating, and a friendly girl immediately said it was no problem. The cafe was about 30-40% full, allowing me to choose my own table. I picked a spot at the back with a skylight that let in some pleasant natural light.
I ordered a Turmeric latte, which cost £4.73. Although a bit expensive, it seemed reasonable for the location. The latte was delicious, slightly on the sweet side but very tasty. The service was great, and the waitress was super sweet and helpful.
Overall, Route cafe offered a quiet and comfortable environment with good service and tasty drinks. It’s a great place to relax or get some work done, and I’m planning to make it a...

I decided to treat myself and ordered a slice of cake and coffee. The cake was very flavoursome and the coffee was really well made. I enjoyed it very much. The interior design is modern, with a Mediterranean twist- that's why it deserves the 3 star rating.
Cons: Now, after reading the Google reviews that mentioned 'friendly' staff I was expecting better customer service.
The waitress who served me spilled my coffee on the saucer, I still thanked her politely and she completely ignored the fact that she had spilled my coffee and walked off without an apology- and with somewhat bad attitude. I found this to be unprofessional. I cleaned it up myself using a tissue.
I could have been a regular customer, but I would not...
