⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A Little Slice of Paris in Bermondsey! Comptoir Gourmand is an absolute gem for pastry lovers! Tucked away on Bermondsey Street, this family-run French patisserie delivers on both taste and atmosphere. From the moment you step inside, you’re welcomed by a cozy, rustic charm and an irresistible display of artisanal pastries that look as good as they taste. The pastries and bakes are outstanding—flaky, buttery croissants, indulgent pains au chocolat, and the famous brionut (a perfect blend of brioche and doughnut). If you’re feeling adventurous, the apple and cinnamon brionut is a must-try, with just the right balance of sweetness and spice. Their savory options are just as impressive, from the rich croque monsieur to the deliciously gooey ficelle filled with mozzarella, walnuts, basil, and garlic. The service is warm and friendly, and while it can get busy during peak times, the lively atmosphere just adds to its charm. Whether you’re stopping in for a quick morning treat or a leisurely weekend brunch, this place is worth the visit. Authentic, delicious, and perfectly Parisian—Comptoir Gourmand is a must-visit for any pastry lover in London!

The pastries here are delicious, and worth the extra money. However, the baristas here seemed to be very annoyed with us during our visit. They did not interact, or anything with us, not even a smile. Even after trying to talk to them, we got nothing back. In all my years of having been a barista myself, I would never treat guests like that. It was very uninviting and even though the food is good, it's not worth coming to the Bermondsey location to get customer service like we did. Instead go to the Maltby location, or another coffee shop. The location was clean, and offers drinks, bagged coffee, and pastries. No seating inside, no restrooms. Not wheelchair friendly

Simply one of the best eating experience ever. First the quality of the menu albeit simple is outstanding. Both for foodstuff and drinks, from their savoury chous, the gougeres to their meat and desserts. The wine menu is diverse and of quality. And what is absolutely remarkable are the prices. In an area renowned for bloated price tags and designer look over substance (yes still talking about food here) the prices are nothing short of miraculous. Then, there's the staff. Charlie was simply perfect, his passion for his place of work was evident and his earnestness and kindness made this one of the most pleasant meal I can recall. Ever. Full stop.

Walked into the Bermondsey Street branch on a Sunday afternoon. 2 people were waiting, 1 waiting to be served, 3 staff members. After the person in front was served, I waited for a further few minutes without being acknowledged as the staff were busy chatting to each other. Finally someone said “oh haven’t you been served?” and took my order of two lattes. The barista who made my coffees made a latte and a flat white. When I said that’s not right, they checked with the person who confirmed it was 2 lattes. The barista bit their lip, smirked whilst covering their mouth, didn’t even look me in the eye even though I was stood right in front of them. I said it’s OK but they didn’t apologise, seemed put out having to throw the flat white away, simply said ‘thanks’ when they handed the second latte to me. It’s a TINY shop and not hectic. The only reason I can think of as to why I wasn’t initially noticed or even apologised to was because I’m a racialised person or I didn’t look wealthy enough. All the other customers before and after me were white and were served very quickly. If you’re after good customer service, go to any other cafe on Bermondsey Street or in...

Today was the first day I felt judged in a parasocial setting while ordering food.I had ordered a takeaway pistachio brioche from here, which turned up to be quite ok, even though slightly pricey. My only issue was the service provided. Whilst deciding on what to get, I kindly asked one of the staff members at the till if she would happen to know how many calories the pistachio brioche has, but unfortunately, she wasn't able to advise. Shortly after, another staff member expressed on a tone rather rude that they don't have any calories count information for their sold goods. Advice to staff members and management: food anxiety is a real issue for some people, especially those suffering from eating disorders. Kindness, empathy and an appropriate tone of voice would go a long way, especially when working in customer service and...
