TLDR: The food is decent, however the customer service WAS below acceptable with the waitress working being rude and impolite throughout the whole experience which created a hostile environment making it highly uncomfortable for us, we decided to leave. And with the franco manca app being poorly made with issues when trying to sign up. I hope i get back a reply and we could resolve this matter about this specific waitress. Tq

The food was as expected, however upon entering the premises, we were not greeted and therefore left standing waiting for the host, even though it was not busy. The host then acknowledged us after a few minutes and had given us a hand gesture. While thinking we were allowed to take a seat, we chose the seat nearest to us which was prepped with a menu. However, once the hostess saw us, we were reprimanded that we were not allowed to seat and that her hand gesture she made was meant to stand and wait, we suggested to get up but was then brushed off by the hostess. After ordering, both waitress and the hostess treated us with a disrespectful glare whenever they had walked pass our table. Moreover, because we had coffee and treats from the cafe before, we were then asked to not eat inside the restaurant which was understandable, however, the delivery by the waitress so rude and impolite. As the whole encounter was unpleasant and uncomfortable, we had decided to leave and get our pizzas to go. Because we had visited this restaurant after hearing about the £5 pizza deal, when asked for payment, we had then asked the waiter about the deal, she had quickly dismiss us and and asked for the qr code, we were then left baffled because we were not offered any help, and so we spent 10 minutes or so, trying to get the deal. Because the app was not well made, we were having issues with the app, which was not helpful as we were not given any help but instead the waitress was rude and condescending, therefore we decided to pay full price...

We have been here once to dine in and once to carry away. Dining in definitely gets better service and more attention at least in our limited experience.

Came here on a relatively busy evening just before peak hours and waited about 25 minutes for a table. Sat down, ordered one beer and an appetizer (prosciutto with burrata) with two pizzas to share (veg special and FM special 7?). Two beers came because evidently there was some mistake in the wait staff. No complaints here because now I get my own beer. Appetizer comes but looks incomplete (no prosciutto). We alert the staff and the offending tray is whisked away to be replaced by another tray with different (and accurate) items. Burrata cheese was silky and creamy, the prosciutto was salty. Dish came with tomatos and a bit of rocket. Very yummy! The pizza was good but not amazing. Service was inattentive so I never got napkins and we had to flag someone down for a check.

Later the next week, ordered carry away because we were with friends. We got three pizzas to split (2, 4, and 6) and again the pizza was good but the toppings distribution was laughable. The chorizo on the #4 was pathetically clustered on about one quarter of the pizza, and the meat on the #6 was a bit sparse and all in the center. Not terrible but considering the price (we even got charged to add extra tomato sauce that was never added) we aren't going to come back unless we have no other options. We can just make better pizza at home (yes we are food snobs and make our own pizzas...

What a Joke.

Today we went to Franco Manca in Bermondsey to check out the £5 pizza promotion. The restaurant was super busy, but despite the full house, the service was great, and the pizzas were spot on.

It was me and my friend, and while we were eating, something caught our attention. There was this incredibly rude table complaining about something ridiculous, like how to get the discount or something along those lines.

Erika, the manager, was dealing with it, and honestly, that table was treating her so badly. We were really impressed by how calm and professional she stayed the way she handled the situation was perfect.

We both work in hospitality, and it was honestly sad to see how some guests can be so horrible to staff who are just trying to do their job.

literally not only our table has noticed that!!!!!!

This review isn’t just to say how much we love Franco Manca (because we do), but also to give a huge shoutout to Erika. She was amazing today, even under pressure. More employees like Erika, and honestly, fewer guests like those ones, would make the world of hospitality so much better.

it is gret to have a £5 pound pizza but it is also great to be served from a very good...

Okay so the pizzas are good. Reasonably priced etc. But it’s 2 stars as everything else is shocking. I’ve attached a photo of the whole pieces of garlic (shocking for even an amateur chef) they put on the ā€œgarlic breadā€ when I tried to tell the waitress she just walked away rudely. Clearly didn’t care. The salads etc are also awful. ā€œyellowfinā€ tuna salad is just tinned tuna from Tesco chucked in a bag of leaves, one assumes also from Tesco. If you don’t have good service, starters, or good value drinks you get two stars. Even with good pizza. To top it all off the awful waitress who had walked away whilst I was giving feedback (blonde hair medium height) as we left loudly yelled ā€œ they were horrible they took off the service chargeā€ in front of one of the girls as we left. This was really nasty as the charge is optional and she utterly didn’t deserve it. This occurred the evening of the 1st of January. She told us she was hungover but to do all this is just not good enough. Won’t be back. Maybe need to rethink her employment or have a training session at least. Worst service I’ve gotten in London.

So disappointed in our order this evening. We wanted a vegan pizza and it looks great as per normal (and vegan pizza!), but instead of charging us for the veg special swapped with vegan cheese plus the extra ingredient ordered they’ve charged us for each ingredient individually. My husband paid by contactless so initially didn’t realise and didn’t spot the high payment, but upon checking the receipt while waiting outside, he queried the bill and was told they had rung each ingredient up individually, and couldn’t do anything. Our normal bill for this is around 9.50 (veg or vegan special plus one ingredient), but instead we’ve paid 12.50. We’ve even been charged extra for tomatoes for some reason which seems bizarre if they actually thought our intention was to replicate the ā€˜special’ on top of a margherita base, as margherita normally comes with tomato base. Service is usually rushed but with a big smile, but in this case it just feels like a money grab where they assumed customers aren’t checking receipts. Really hope we’re wrong.

It's what you would expect from a small, cute Italian pizzeria, although it is a chain. As we arrived, we waited a bit and then were sitted. It was Valentines eve which was to be expected. The food is very good and tasty although I have realised that there is soooo much dough in pizza and in starters as well. The dough is very good sourdoughand you might find yourself eating more than you initially expected. I love the fact that their indegridients are very good and Franco Manca is all about simplicity and great produce used for pizzas. As it was Valentine's Day, the pizzas were heart-shaped - such a good touch! Three is a good choice of starters and bites, although again, a lot of them are dough-based. There is a choice of 4 cocktails (which could be increased) and 4 beers (as well could also be more) and 1 organic prosecco and some wines to choose from too. Good choice of deserts. The waiters were friendly and kind but seem vert busy and have to run around a lot. All in all, I would be quite happy to get back there.
