Severely disappointing experience and terrible customer service. Booked my partners 30th birthday for September in March this year. This was cancelled without warning with a booking cancellation email in June as Bermondsey street festival was on, which ends at 7pm. I was disappointed by this but was offered the private room under the same booking terms and we were originally very happy by this outcome. Three days later this agreement was reneged on and I was informed they could not go ahead without enforcing a minimum spend. Under normal circumstances I understand a minimum spend but as they had already changed our plans for their benefit this did not feel accommodating, my card is down already for a deposit for this booking as well. Their concern was they wouldn't make enough from a 40 person 30th birthday party without this minimum spend, even though we had been moved from the garden so they could maximize 'footfall'. A call was offered to discuss and I requested the manager be on this, they didn’t show up, not surprised. No flexibility shown only to offer that they could ask their other pubs if there was space elsewhere. We used to love going to the Woolpack, after this...

I've been here a few times, it's pretty much consistently been super busy, but for some reason I've never minded.
The beer garden is quite big, loads of seats (generally full in summer) and pretty nice. The inside is also relatively big, and there's an upstairs too. I can proudly say I'm experienced all three of these location options and they were all equally amenable.
The food is good, I had (shared) one of their sharing platters and it was really good (I ate that downstairs, inside). The burger was also pretty good from what I remember (I ate that outside, if you were wondering). The drink is also decent (I've drunk in ALL THREE parts of the pub), I don't remember it too clearly which means it works, it's mostly just standard pub fare, with a few decent beers dropped in there for good measure.
This place is definitely worth a visit if you're in the area, it's a bit of a walk but it's much nicer than some of the alternatives up nearer London Bridge.
I have no idea why I got so fixated on the location of my consumption in...

We visited this pub due its high ratings and the fact that it’s dog friendly. Be warned that if you book with a dog you will be sat in the pub area for dining, there is no table service, it is very loud and busy and the service is very bad.
We ordered starters and main each, when the food came out they brought our main with our starter. When we asked why the main was with the starter they said “the kitchen is very busy” and “we just had to have the food in whatever order it came out”.
We said we are not doing that, so they took the main away whilst we ate starters. When the mains came out they were cold, dry and had been sitting being warmed whilst we ate starters. We had to send back some of the mains as they were inedible.
If you are looking for a nice, cosy dog friendly pub with good food and service- this is not it and I would recommend you go...
