--- Visited The Flat Iron in Borough Market recently and had a mixed but ultimately fantastic experience. Initially, the lack of a clear seating or greeting system was confusing, with some procedural elements seemingly amiss. The distinction between servers, waitresses, and glass collectors wasn't apparent, which added to the initial disorientation. Moreover, the absence of noticeable management, alongside the obligatory offering of popcorn and quirky ice cream, left me questioning the establishment's organizational structure. However, and this is a significant however, the handling of allergens and the explanation of their chart were exceptional. The staff's attention to detail in this area was reassuring and truly appreciated. Moving on to the food - it was nothing short of phenomenal. If it were possible to rate it 11 out of 10, I would without hesitation. Every dish was perfect in every conceivable way. A special shoutout to the green salad, which was brilliantly prepared without dressing and included pumpkin seeds, fennel, and peas. A masterpiece, to say the least. Kudos to the chef for the outstanding culinary experience. Despite the initial hiccups, the quality of the food and the care in allergen information have left a lasting impression on me. Would recommend for the food quality alone, which manages to shine through the service ambiguities. --- I hope this review m captures the nuances of our experience, emphasizing the areas for improvement while also highlighting the exceptional aspects, especially the food and allergen care.

Great place, fantastic affordable price and great staff. Very pleasing setting and adorable tiny knives. Definitely returning. They have delivered on the Steak and dinning experience. With delicious limited options to keep picky individuals under control. Servicing up A classic Flat Iron or Bavette in either standard or Waygu, 4 sauces to choose from and 6 or so sides that compliment the meal. They greet you with lemon water and popcorn. Your order is taken and this particular Flat Iron has a wonderful server who walked me through the menu and how they work and a little conversation on cuts of steak and preference. I opted for the medium rare with creamy spinach and bone marrow mashed potatoes. The side salad was added and it was fantastic almost to the point where I hope in the future they make a steak salad version of this. Super Pro: The waiter went above and beyond to provide great service and checked in to keep my experience as a top tier dining one. Friendly, and accommodating. Cons: The hostess that directed me to my seat was a little disconnected. After heading to the seat and pointing out the lemon water she did an about-face as I asked about the WC location and returned back to her docking station as if she was a robot. She might not have been able to hear me but the table she passed did so she was in range (arms length). But a quick look around and the WC was in the rear right corner from the entrance.

Absolute jewel along Tooley St. Was looking for a place to celebrate wifes' birthday dinner. Considering it is Saturday i tried to book reservation online it is fully booked. So decided to just walk-in. I told the front man we have no reservation at all and ask how long will it take us to wait. He replied for how many, told him for 4 please. He checked and told us 5 mins and if we are happy to be seated whilst waiting. He then took our orders for drinks. Then seated on our table which is by the bar, welcomed by free popcorn and a jar of water. The steaks are amazing! I ordered medium rare (recommended) with creamed spinach and peppercorn sauce with their IPA. Wife and daughter absolutely enjoying their ordered steaks with fries as well. Since its my wifes birthday, one of the waiter kindly made her an ice cream on a cocktail glass topper with ice cream cone as they have no cake dessert. The dinner is finished off with token free ice cream on our way out. All i can say the experience dining in never fails us. It is worth every penny! Very accommodating staff that goes beyond! Customer service at its finest. Steak price cheapest in London. Very highly recommended and will be back again and again! Came back for a birthday dinner reservation. Never thought there is a room on the ground floor which can accommodate bet 8-10. Was served well and on time. One happy customer again.

Flat Iron is the biggest scam Ive ever experienced. I was really excited about going with my friends because I had heard so many great things about it. Maybe its just this location in particular, but I was utterly disappointed by the meal. I ordered a medium rare steak, which upon arrival looked to be only rare. It was extremely pink and chewy, I couldn’t even finish it, I only ate half. The fries were really cripsy and not in a good way, they tasted more like crisps than fries. You couldnt even taste the potato on the inside. Didn’t finish those either. The only redeemable quality about this meal was the peppercorn sauce which had to be bought separately and it was a devastatingly tiny portion for £1.50. The drink selection was also not great with a lot of options containing the same ingredients which really limits your options if you happen to not like something. To top off one of the most disappointing meals of my life, my friends and I decided to pay separately. I paid last and when the server got to me she said we can’t take off the OPTIONAL 12.5% service charge because my 2 friends had already paid! Utterly disgusting behaviour as this should have been clearly mentioned before we started to pay. I do not recommend this to anyone.

They give you free popcorn as soon as you sit down. It's a nice touch. Don't fill up on this though! My friends recommended we go for the steak, which is what Flat Iron is known for. So, we got one each and a peppercorn sauce. Sides include creamed spinach, truffle mac and cheese. We got the bone marrow mash, beef dripping chips, green salad and roasted aubergine. There's a baked Alaska option for dessert. However, you get free caramel ice cream in any case! They did the same for a birthday treat for our friend. We opted to not order dessert and just have our free ice cream. They give you mini cleavers that you can exchange for your free ice cream before you leave. If you're too full, you can keep the cleaver and exchange it at a Flat Iron at any time afterwards! The restaurant is between London Bridge and Tower Bridge. We paid £95.93 total. That included a cocktail, 2 rose lemonades and a carafe of red wine, as well as the 3 steaks and sides. Service of 12.5% was added. Quite busy around 8.30pm on a Tuesday evening in May. We could only book a table for a late sitting. Follow here and on IG for more travel and food and drink tips, ideas and reviews @one.more.step.along.the.world

I recently visited Flat Iron at London Bridge and had a delightful dining experience. The standout feature of this restaurant is undoubtedly its customer service. Carlos, one of the staff members, went above and beyond to make the visit memorable. He was not only knowledgeable about the menu but also incredibly engaging, offering personalized recommendations that truly enhanced the meal. The steak was cooked to perfection, as showcased in the signature flat iron steak I enjoyed, paired with sides that complemented the dish beautifully. The creamy spinach and crispy bone marrow garlic mash were particularly delicious. The menu, while focused, offers quality over quantity, ensuring every item is crafted with care. The wine selection also pairs excellently with the mains. The ambience was cosy yet lively, making it a great spot for a casual meal or a special evening out. The service was prompt, and the staff's friendliness made it feel like more than just a meal—it was an experience. Flat Iron's commitment to both great food and excellent service earns it a solid recommendation. I’ll definitely be back!
