I am writing this post to express my concerns regarding a recent visit to your London Bridge venue. We attended your London Bridge venue for a birthday party on Saturday, 13 August 2022 for the 2pm electric shuffleboard session. Initially, we were impressed with the quality of service and food during our session, however, as soon as our session ended, that is where the accommodating environment quickly turned sour. After our session, we had moved to the bar area to end off the afternoon before leaving. At this stage one of our female friends became unwell. While we do not promote irresponsible drinking, the venue seems to do so by supplying an entire bottle of Proseco to each guest to consume in a 2 hour session. That being said, the staff of the venue should have been completely aware that people may become unwell, as was the case with one of our friends. She was however, not disruptive at the venue, but rather sought the lavatories before leaving the venue on her own volition under assistance with friends. At no stage was she obstructive, rude or even so much as unfriendly. Our unwell friend quickly became extremely dehydrated outside the venue and needed to rest for a moment. The staff outside the venue proceeded to approach her (and the two ladies assisting her) to "chase them away" while we were tending to our unwell friend, and arranging a taxi to get her home safely. However, this apparently was not fast enough for the venue staff who continued to bombard us with requests to move away from the front of the venue as the situation was "making the venue look bad". The temperature was in excess of thirty degrees Celsius, and we had therefore requested water from the venue to assist in tending to our friend while we waited for her taxi. This request was made politely, and offers to pay for the water were made. At which stage, we were charged £1 for tap water (subsequent to spending £500 for the venue booking) and when trying to give this to our unwell friend outside the venue, we were stopped and told we could not do so. When politely querying why they were not allowed to take the water outside (noting the container was disposable and not glass – which we would understand), two of our female friends (who had made the request for water) were told to "f**k off, and get out of the bar" by the (who seemed to be) manager on duty in the bar area. In addition to this, the male employee aggressively approached our two female friends in an attempt to physically intimidate them. At which stage, the two female friends returned outside in tears. With the situation escalating, a request was made to speak to a senior staff member to try and manage the situation, which request was ignored. We managed to get our friend home safely, however, had she been on her own, this would likely not have been the case, as she would have been left to untrained and aggressive staff. There is no scenario where any member of staff should behave in this manner. Their threatening behaviour (specifically against women) should not be tolerated. We trust this post (unlike the request for assistance on the day) will attract due attention by the relevant persons at the venue, and those staff members being held to account to ensure other patrons are not treated in this way. It should be specifically noted that the above does not in any way reflect on the female door attendant (whose name has been purposefully omitted from this post for her privacy) who, contrary to her colleagues, behaved in a professional manner and did what she could to assist us – albeit there was little she could do, with the rest of her colleagues behaving in such a...
Read moreMy friends’ experience was great, except for mine unfortunately. Was super disappointing for me as the shuffle board part was all great and fun until I received my food. When I had ordered the Beyond burger, it was clear that the waiter had taken my order correctly as he had repeated this back to me also. When I received my food and started eating, I did notice it tastes a bit off. However I don’t want to be that annoying person who is double checking everything is correct and making a big deal out of things. So I keep eating until I am down to the last few bites when i suddenly start feeling nauseous. I decided to look at the menu just incase. As I was looking at the menu I noticed that my Beyond burger was also supposed to have plant based bacon, which i did not see or taste in my burger. So now i am panicking and look to the waitress who happens to be there at the time. She goes to check and shortly returns with her colleague. They then take the plate and start saying “this is strange”, and walk away once again. Then the gentleman who took my order originally came over again, and started saying “i’m sorry”. I was then informed by him that my order was taken correctly, but it was the chef that made my order incorrectly. To which my natural response, was “ How did that happen?”. An awkward amount of silence had gone by with no answer, until I asked for the manager. I was super upset, so I had to go outside and cool off. The manager Dan, then came outside to confirm the exact same information that I had received from the previous gentleman. That this was due to the chef’s negligence in making the correct burger for me. Dan was able to provide me with my refund as I did not receive the order that I asked for initially and that is probably the only reason that I am not giving this review a one star. However, for the foreseeable future, I will not be returning to this establishment. Unless there will be new management coming into place, especially within the kitchen. As someone who works in hospitality herself, I understand that mistakes can happen. When it comes to people’s food, you have to be extremely careful. Yes, I may not have any allergies, but I get extremely ill when I eat red meat or poultry. Which should also be given, when I am ordering a beyond burger - which is vegan. Poor attention to detail as the staff members are basically only there to serve food and drinks and they can’t even do that right?! This has never happened to me in my almost 10 years of being pescatarian. Don’t want to lie either and say this hasn’t traumatised me in always checking if I have the correct order before eating, as I am now very ill at home and will probably need to skip work tomorrow. I pray this doesn’t happen to...
Read moreMy partner took me here for my birthday this past weekend. We arrived far too early for our reservation but luckily they had an appealing menu that ranged from beautiful cocktails, to addictive bar snacks, to sharing platters, to more filling items like burgers and pizza. We highly recommend the truffle fries and the Korean beef skewers (of which I only took a really blurry photo because we were too eager to dig in). If we had gone hungrier, we would have tried every item on the menu!
The space was wonderfully aesthetic, incorporating the exposed brick of the bridge into the design, the curved ceiling and the dimmed lights give the space an intimate feel; this was complemented by the dark wood details and contrasted by some jovial colour pops of the "electric" and instagrammable walls.
The games themselves were really fun. Everything was really high tech and self explanatory. The games are faster than bowling, and it's nice to have the autonomy to choose what type of shuffle board game we want to play, to pick our teams, and to see replays of our action when we score high points. It's a place that is suitable for couples or bigger and rowdier friend groups alike. It felt like the one-hour slot flew by and we would have loved to continue playing if we had had the time. If you are coming in a bigger group I definitely recommend booking at least two hours.
All the staff were really kind but we would like to especially thank Hamna for going above and beyond for us. She was really pleasant and helpful, taking the extra step to make sure that we had a chance to get our photos taken so we could have a memorable print out. It was such a pleasure. We had nothing but smiles and compliments...
