Ever since I moved to Maida Vale, I always moaned that there is no good coffee shop in this area of London. Recently a friend told me, that she discovered a little place that looked like a decent coffee shop, just one or two minutes away from where I live.
As soon as I could, I walked down and was surprised. What could be nicer than a sweet voice whispering French lyrics into your ears? Not that much, I would say. So before I knew it, the place already scored for the music.
The nice little coffee shop sells Monmouth coffee, freshly made sandwiches and sweet treats. The interior is light, warm and beautiful.
Not only the location and the products are great, but the staff are also very friendly.
D1 Coffee is kind of what I was looking for in this area. It's great to have a quality coffee shop just around the corner.
Right now, I can only go there on Saturdays, but they said that they will probably open on Sundays, and in Summer they might open longer than 5pm. That is just one more reason why I cannot wait for the...

The coffee they prepare here may be the reason people are addicted to it. In my opinion coffee isn't supposed be neither too sweet nor too bitter. Here, they create the perfect balance between that two and it makes me want to order another cup.
D1 also has breakfast like baked goodies and sandwiches. I'm trying to quit the sweets, so I won't talk about the cakes and desserts they had. Prices are great and for about £2 you get to drink quality coffee rather than paying double the price for shitty coffee. This is most certainly a new...
Read moreWe were slightly disappointed with my partner coming back here after a year. They have changed the menu, we missed the avocado sandwich. We ordered captées sandwich and the ingredients were fine but the sandwich had no taste it wasn’t properly seasoned (as it used to before). Before they used to put olive oil with pepper and salt on the side as a dip, now they don’t anymore and we really missed that. Also we ordered two caramel lattes and haven’t received the caramel at all. They also barely allowed me to use the toilet after begging them, which was unnecessary in the past. It was a move place for us to come for even from far for a special day breakfast but I think this was the last...
