Nice food and vibe. Otoro is melty, octopus salad is freshening, both are good starter to begin with. I’ll highlight vegetable tempura, it has shiitake mushroom pretty fresh and juicy. The batter is free of excess oil which needs skilled to make it, every veg tempura is refreshing. For sushi set, I like eel nigiri and yellow tail nigiri in the set, especially. I didn’t expect to have them in the UK. The sake is a bit sweet and good pairing with nigiri, maki perhaps, I didn’t try the match too much. The staffs are friendly and also let us have our own space enjoying the good night. I guess I might visit again in a short time.

Came here in the afternoon and wanted to take the seat by the window but was told the it’s reserved. When I left, I did not see anyone came. I have also reserved a table in advance and was hoping to get nicer seating. The staff service wasn’t to the service I expected. Drinks were slow and wasn’t as friendly as I would want. The set was average, some nice fresh seafood, but the sashimi set I found the maki roll wasn’t done nicely. Felt it a bit broken apart. Overall I think it’s nice restaurant but service and quality of the sushi could be improved.

Small tucked away restaurant with around 30 seats. Reportedly operated by an x-Zuma chef. Mostly Japanese/Asian staff providing good service. As it's small probably better to book. Good menu range. Tasty miso soup. Excellent Rainbow roll; we were two persons and thought we may need two rolls but one roll was quite well sized and so well presented. Ebi tempura well done but think the dipping bowl should be larger. Salmon teriyaki was excellent and surprisingly large. Definetely a place to return as do the locals.

This is a great local sushi place where I discovered a real passion for Japanese food. I was a complete novice to sushi, apart from the occasional visit to a conveyor belt chain, before discovering this place and now I love it and can't get enough.

The place itself is a little crammed and can seem a little claustrophobic, but I actually quite like the wooden decor which adds to the authentic atmosphere and although the staff are mainly Asian with limited English I've never had any issues obtaining what I wanted from the menu.

Sushi & Sashimi is what everyone flocks here for, but there is also a selection of other seafood , meat or noodle dishes to choose from and it's all very tasty. No wonder the place is constantly full and brimming with locals. It's almost impossible to get a walk in table so I recommend you reserve a table especially on busy nights.

PS The only photo I seem to be able to find of this place is the one I posted. It was during a quick lunch time stop and I somehow managed to eat most of the Sashimi & seaweed salad before I remembered to take a photo. It really doesn't do this place justice and I will try to upload some more photos of this place if I can remember to take...

Really disappointing- we used to be regulars pre-pandemic, first time back and it seems much has changed. Maybe they were having an off night but the tempura was soaked in oil, they did change it but the new dish came back the same, dripping. The rolls were fine but nothing blew us away like it used to. The atmosphere was different, I don’t know if it’s changed ownership but where we used to come out of this place buzzing, it was just flat and the staff just seemed so indifferent.

The other thing that really ruined the atmosphere are all the delivery drivers who stand outside impatiently pressing the buzzer and looking through the window - the same window we and our friend were seated at. I did food deliveries during the pandemic and was always respectful of diners when in-dining came back - I always made sure the staff knew I was there then would wait discreetly
Maguro really need to have some system in place so the drivers don’t gang up around the entrances, it completely ruins the experience from the moment you arrive and have to push past the drivers to get into the restaurant!

So disappointing and I’m not sure we’d come...

It makes me smile when I read other people's comments about the prices. I mean you can always go online and check well known restaurant's menus and see the prices before you book in. If you think the food is expensive, why do you even bother to go? I just find this very unfair. If you are looking to pay ÂŁ4 for 2 pieces of nigiri, you better buy from Tesco. It is not a spacious restaurant, the grounds are tiny but very popular around Maida Vale and Little Venice. Besides it is always packed and you can not always expect non stop smiling faces when the staff is so busy with delivering food etc. Well, I would find it very weird if it was vice versa. The food is 4/5 but the two thing I can complain is the size of the special sushis which are enormous to eat. I like to use the chop sticks to eat sushi but these specialities are so big, it puts you in a funny position while trying to eat them with chop sticks. Secondly when the manager is not around, girls can get a bit disorientated however they are always polite. Well...
