Ev Bar — Restaurant in London

A big thankyou to Ev Bar, I held my birthday here on Sat with over 60 guests and they were so accommodating, giving me a large area towards the back of the bar (which is absolutely gorgeous, and perfect for a party). I could add my own decorations and there's plenty of gorgeous comfy seats and lux sofas, and little touchs like cosy corners with lamps and interesting artwork. There's also plenty of toilets which were really clean - important for a big party. The outside area is really pretty and has loads of heaters so very snug. They gave me some surprise complimentary cocktails for my birthday which were delicious, so sweet of you. I could play my own music and the staff were fantastic and enjoyed the dancing too, Anil and the young lady were so wonderful, they felt like the were part of our party, and really helped us celebrate. Table of 10 for a birthday celebration. Food was very mediocre, the vegans in my party seemed to enjoy their food and bread was made available on arrival for them. The other 75% found it to be unflavoured and very similar to local kebab shop standard. Pastry starters were quite heavy and claggy. The surroundings were lovely but the service and food let the place down. Staff were rude and abrupt, rather than take one of the party to the side and say they were closing @ (11pm) they stood around our table staring, in coats ready to leave. As the restaurant has a bar with a loud club next door I didnt realise they were all so desperate to close up. When asked questions they were very short and impatient with responses. This place is a hidden gem under the arches, it's a great little hideout and perfect for either dropping in for some food, nibbles or drinks. I was surprised as thought it might be very busy and glad it was much better.

The platter of food was overall great, with lots of good drink choices, nice staff and a big screen for sports. I can imagine in the summer it is a great place to go to.

Keeping this one on the list for sure.

Very close to Southwark tub and plenty of buses run near to hear. Lovely all around! Good value for money not too expensive...
