My visit to Fatto a Mano at St Katharine Docks was an outstanding experience from the moment I arrived. Set against the picturesque backdrop of the marina, the restaurant has a relaxed yet elegant atmosphere, perfect for a leisurely meal. The staff welcomed me warmly and were attentive throughout, providing excellent service without ever feeling intrusive.
I ordered the Capricciosa pizza, and it was absolutely delicious. When it arrived, it was clear that great care had been taken in its preparation. The dough was light, soft, and had just the right amount of crispness at the edges – a true sign of a properly made Neapolitan pizza. The toppings were fresh and generously applied: tender artichokes, savoury ham, earthy mushrooms, and perfectly briny black olives, all layered over a vibrant tomato sauce and creamy mozzarella. Every bite was perfectly balanced, with flavours that complemented each other beautifully.
Beyond the exceptional food, the service truly elevated the experience. The staff made sure I had everything I needed, offering olive oil and chilli flakes to enhance the pizza if I wished. They checked in at just the right moments, keeping my water topped up and ensuring I was enjoying my meal without being overbearing. Their friendliness and genuine enthusiasm made it clear they took pride in their work.
The setting itself added to the charm. Sitting by the docks, watching the boats gently sway, provided a calm and pleasant atmosphere that felt like a welcome escape from the bustle of London. Whether for a casual lunch or a special evening meal, Fatto a Mano offers an environment where you can fully relax and enjoy the experience.
Although I was quite full after the pizza, I could not resist trying the tiramisù. It was the perfect end to the meal – light, creamy, and bursting with authentic coffee and cocoa flavours.
In terms of value, Fatto a Mano is very reasonably priced considering the high quality of the food, the excellent service, and the beautiful location. It feels like a true hidden gem, combining authenticity with a welcoming atmosphere.
I cannot recommend Fatto a Mano highly enough. Whether you are a pizza lover or simply appreciate great food and service, this is a place you should not miss. I will definitely be...
Read moreThe pizza here was exceptional, the dough was pillowy and full of flavour, I wanted to eat every inch of my pizza, and I did. I then continued to eat some of my partner's pizza too. EXCEPTIONAL!!! The tomato sauce and toppings were fresh and full of flavour too.
I really can't fault this place. Even though they were at full capacity, it didn't feel like that based on the high standards of food and great service. The pizzas were coming out thick and fast. The staff were friendly, attentive and all aware of what was going on around them. They make a solid team.
A special shout out goes out to Ethan. Because he was a pleasure to talk to, he made us feel looked after and was never far if we needed anything. He even made sure that we were not too cold while sat outside and had a heat lamp if needed. I could see that he was aware of his surroundings and paid attention to all of his customers.
I have been to other Fatto A Mano's and all were good. However, this is now my favourite branch and it is also my local. So, I will be back often. One request to the BIG bosses; please bring back the special pizza: THE MARGHERITA SBAGLIATA 🍕 (I need it in my...
Read moreextremely disappointing and overpriced. considering the buratta pizza has a full buratta, why does the vegan version have basically about 3 small spoonfulls of plantbased buratta? even if youre buying the straciatella to use instead, i feel like the amount you put should be comparable to the nonvegan version, especially at that price. even the nonvegan person i came here with was extremely shocked and confused. didnt want to complain as the waiters were extremely busy and lovely to us (and ive worked in hospitality enough to give them grace), but i really was disappointed as i was excited at the fact that they were offering interesting options. but taking advantage of us and putting the price up without giving us comparable quality to the nonvegans is not cool. all i could really taste was pesto. wish id just gotten the cheaper pizza as the pizza dough itself was decent
side note, for anyone with sensory difficulties, the acoustics/layering of noise is quite bad esp when busy, so can be...
