Made a booking for brunch at 12pm. No-one was standing and greeting customers where the sign was and instead we were waved to from the bar to go and speak to them there. A nice touch was that there was a card ready with my name, reservation and time.

You can order through the app or at the bar. Initially, I was going to order through the app but many of the food dishes and drinks were crossed out so I ordered at the bar instead so I could ask about the availability directly. Many of the teas were not available. The smashing pancakes (the main reason I even chose slug and lettuce) were not able to be made so I had to opt for something else. My accompanying part ordered a pot of tea similar to me and we received that first and had to take it back to our table ourselves.

I opted for the brioche sandwich instead as it was the closest (flavour-wise) I could get to my initial choice. The restaurant wasn’t busy at all during this time, with only 2 other groups of 3-4 people and one other that were only contemplating drinks. So the fact that our food came much later was rather disappointing - but at least this was served to our table rather than us having to take it from the bar like the tea.

The brioche sandwich was a great disappointment. It was perhaps the driest piece of brioche bread that was quite tough, not fluffy or warm at all. The ice cream was more ice than anything and because the bread seemed so stale, it did not even soak in it at all or make it somewhat moist. Two lotus biscoff biscuits topped the bread, with lotus biscoff and chocolate sauce drizzled around the outside which I had to scrape on to the bread and drink a ton of tea alongside to even make it bearable to eat at all.

I may visit again (probably another branch) because I really do want to try the smashing pancakes and am hoping it’s not such a huge disappointment. The two staff members that led the service we experienced were either new, lost, had no clue what they were doing, weren’t bothered to provide a good service or just all of the aforementioned altogether.

Was not a massive fan of slug and lettuce but seeing the menu options in the London branches gave me some hope to try it out but now I’m more dissuaded from visiting again...

On 21.11.2024, I booked a private table for myself and my 28 colleagues.

I would like to give a massive thank you to Simon, who went above and beyond to ensure our event was a success. Their attention to detail and willingness to assist were highly appreciated. Simon spoke with me at length, explaining all the arrangements to me over email and over the phone (I am definitely the longest caller Simon has had haha).

Anything I wanted, Simon made it happen, and our night ran smoothly because of them. Simon's friendly demeanor and professionalism really made a difference, and we felt well taken care of throughout the evening. I have past experience of working as a waitress and hosting functions, so I understand the amount of work Simon put into our event, not just on the night itself, but the weeks leading up to it, and I know what excellent customer service skills they have.

I appreciate that we were given a private seating area, the layout was perfect for our group. The staff were all friendly and attentive, seamlessly catering to our needs and ensuring every guest felt welcomed.

The customer service we received was amazing. The food was delicious, we were served drinks and the three courses in a timely manner, and i appreciated the open and friendly communication with all the staff. My colleagues were all delighted with the experience, we all had a great time.

I will certainly be recommending Slug and Lettuce to others, and I hope to return for another gathering soon.

Again another massive thank you to Simon, I hope that in the future whenever I need to speak with a customer service representative, I always get...

Okay, so I’ll start with the positive. It’s cute! Now for my experience. We had to order using the app which was broken. Kept decking out cards so my husband went to the bar snd they tell him the app is down. As we are sitting at our table waiting for 37 minutes we watch the waitress just roll her eyes continuously at the table next to us (assuming she did the same to us). But, to top it off she put two reserve table signs on our table……kind of rude but okay. Sooo we finally get our meal. The guy who placed are food just threw it on the table. Mains were great. Absolutely the worst nachos I’ve ever had though. Chips were stale and the guacamole lacked flavor. My naan bread was stale. So we are finishing up with our food and the waitress had the nerve to place yet another reservation paper on our table telling us we have to leave at 4…..it was 3:38………as I’m annoyingly writing this review finishing up our soda (for my sister) and Prosecco I’m forcing my husband to drink for me she tells us she can move our table if we went to stay longer. It’s more 3:49…… oh keep in mind the reservation is for 4-6….. the next reservation for this table is for 545-745……ummm so they are going to make either one leave early or one wait. That’s insane. I’m sorry but I was so excited to eat here based off the menu. The pictures are very misleading and show soooo much food. I wish I took pictures but I was starving!!!! However, another positive. The cocktails trees or neighboring table has looks so great!!!! So drinks are worthy here but...

Terrible service. We were shown to our seats and no-one came to us nor did anyone explain that we had to order through the app. Once we eventually ordered, our order took over an hour and 30 minutes to come and they were made to poor standard. It did not look like the cocktails everyone else had received, it had bits in it and tasted horrid. By the time we had received all our drinks it was 10 minutes from closing time and they arrived in take away cups, despite us ordering these drinks over an hour before closing. The picture is the same drink. One looked presentable and tasted fine and one tasted like tropical juice and looked disgusting. The management was very aware we was unhappy with our service and avoided eye contact with us all night. Horrible first experience of slug & lettuce.
