The nearest tube station is Green Park, be sure to walk up atmospheric White Horse Street to get here. . A pub was established on this site in 1742. The original name of this pub was The Three Jolly Butchers, in 1785 the pub was renamed The Kings Arms. . Once you enter through the pubs curved facade you arrive in a low ceilinged bar full of old world charm. There are beams across the ceiling and plenty of dark wood abound. If you head up the curved staircase you’ll find a dining area overlooking Shepherd Market. . There is a solid beer selection including four cask marque certified real ales. I had a pint of London Pilsner which is a @portobellobrewing beer, I haven’t seen this on offer in a @greeneking_official pub before, a nice surprise. My pint was great and very enjoyable, price point was at the higher end of the richter scale. The food menu is classic pub grub, Fish & Chips costs £16.49. . I visited on a Saturday lunchtime and the pub was fairly busy with a broad mix of clientele. The staff here were on point, the chap who served me was polite and the floor staff were checking back on punters enjoying their food. . The @kingsarms_mayfair is a pleasant cosy boozer which didn’t disappoint. The ambiance and atmosphere were excellent and the staff were keen to please. It started with the online booking tool, I tried to place a booking, got charged the deposit, but didn't actually get a reservation, so I had to email, as they didn't answer the phone, and got one a couple days later. Then after our meal they couldn't see the transaction on their system so they couldn't deduct it from the bill, even though I showed them the transaction on my phone, so I paid the whole bill, and they said they would contact me to get me that back. They still haven't as of a couple days later.
The service was poor and slow. It took us an hour from sitting down to having our food orders taken. Then it took another half an hour for the food to actually get served, at which point they had forgotten the extras we had added on, which caused the food to go back to the kitchen and it arrived somewhat on the cold side after.
They were also out of stock of several basic items, including the beef roast, which we managed to get the last of after an almost 10 minute discussion of the waiter with the kitchen. They even ran out of milk for the coffee!
The food itself was also rather mediocre. The carrots were under done, the roast potatoes were under done and not crispy, 1 out of 3 beef roasts was completely over done and dry. But the other two were fine. And that after half an hour wait while it...

I have to mention my experience was a bit tainted, from the encounter with one of the staff members.
My partner booked a table for 2 for lunch on a Friday. However my flight was delayed by 40 minutes so we missed the original booking time. He called a few times to change the booking but the line was not working/calling through.
We arrived with a few friends (so bringing more customers to the venue to eat and drink). The staff member who greeted us was very hostile and aggressive when communicating that we were late for the original booking, the staff member wouldn’t let anyone talk to even explain about the calls not being answered/going through.
I honestly understand the frustration and we were apologetic about the situation, but to be treated like that and not given an opportunity to even speak, especially when we were trying to calmly explain to the staff member what happened, was just a bit jarring.
In the end we were able to seat down for lunch, there was plenty of free tables. The waitress we had who severed us was really lovely and helpful.
So overall bittersweet. I really get impacted by little aggressive encounters like that. Hard to shake it off and feel relaxed. But the food was good and the other staff members were lovely. So hopefully others have a...
