Lava cafe — Restaurant in London

Went to Lava Cafe with some friends and honestly, worst decision we made all week.

First off, the lady who owns the place has the worst attitude I’ve ever seen in hospitality. We were polite, just asking basic questions about flavours and prices, and she responded like we were annoying her. Gave us dirty looks the whole time, and it just killed the vibe from the start.

Then she tried to overcharge us for the shisha, added “extras” we didn’t ask for, and when we asked her to explain the bill, she got proper defensive and borderline rude, acting like we were trying to scam her or something. Like relax, we’re just asking why we’re paying £60 for a session that should’ve been £35.

To top it off, when we asked to move to a different table, she straight-up said “No, you’ll be fine” and walked off. No customer service at all.

Honestly, the vibe was off, the energy was off, and the staff made it clear they didn’t care if you were enjoying yourself or not. We ended up leaving early because the whole thing was just uncomfortable.

Wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. Plenty of better lounges in London where they actually treat you with...

Only moved up this part of London for work recently, popped into here for a coffee one day and I’ve never looked back.

I only tend to get a coffee and maybe a cake or 2 throughout the week but the usual guy here had remembered my order from day 1, he’s always polite and considerate, to this day all I have to do is walk in and my coffee is ready in a few minutes

I personally haven’t had a meal here but their cakes are to die for! I usually get the Oreo cake and it’s like eating a cloud, so soft and fluffy - it’s perfect!

Lava is one of my favorite shisha lounges. I came to London on vacation a few months ago with a friend of mine and came across Lava walking around Kensington. The quality of service, the shisha and desserts was so memorable. The owner is the absolute sweetest and very attentive! During our stay, we ended up spending every night here as a way to wind down and relax. I’ve been to a few shisha lounges in London and they don’t compete. I’m returning to London in 2023 and Lava is one of the first places I can’t wait to get back...
