This is a Thai restaurant I have come to regularly for at least 15 years. I’m sure ownership and management has changed numerous times. It is very small and quaint. The atmosphere is great and in the past the service has always been excellent with established staff. However, on New Years Eve this was not the place to be for a nice and quiet dinner. Two of the servers were obviously new, not only to the restaurant but to the service industry. They clearly had no idea what to do and were more than overwhelmed. Plates and glasses were dropped on the floor and broken several times during the time I was there. The yelling between the staff and the manager was embarrassing. I had to continuously ask for the most basic, like napkin, cutlery and plate. The staff was unable to check on any of the guests to see if they needed anything more or if the meal was satisfactory. The discussions between the staff about missed or misunderstood reservations could be overheard by guests. I understand that New Years Eve is a very busy night, so that’s not the night to rely on completely untrained staff. Next time I will order my meal for take out. Somehow the chef has managed to keep the standard of the food at a high level. The food is just as good as always. That’s the only reason I didn’t give 1...
Read moreI visited this restaurant after a day in Natural History Museum and would definitely recommend everyone to do the same. I ordered Kor Moo Yang (which is grilled pork neck) and a portion of egg fried rice, both of which are beyond excellent. The prok neck has the correct balance between fat and meat, grilled to perfection so that every bite releases stunning flavour into my mouth. The egg fried rice is even more unbelievable. I am a HongKonger and despite having eaten countless of egg fried rice for over 25 years, this can still be ranked near the top of my list. First and foremost, the rice is fried dry enough. This sounds bery basic, but lots of restaurants especially in the UK fails to do (which IS a death sentence for fried rice), but not Thai Taste. However the real excellent of this dish lies in aroma of eggs that can be tasty with every spoon of rice, which is THE quality I qualify any egg fried rice as authentic. Shout out to the joyful servers as well, your service were also an integral part of this...
Read moreWonderful small Thai , about 8 tables and 3 waiting staff two that were Thai . Clean and well presented with low volume calming music in the background. Menu a decent size so that do what they do well . The usual thai choices curry , noodles , fish etc . You can always tell a decent Thai if they sell Chang beer , the no1 beer in Thailand and a nice touch was the complimentary rice crackers . I had the chicken satay which comes with a really nice warm peanut satay very tasty . Then chicken pad Thai but you can have prawn if you so wish this was light and fresh and very delicious m I hate it when it's too sticky with too much sauce .but this was perfectly balanced . Service was on point and food delicious timings were good also . One thing I noticed was that they don't have too many deliveroo drivers which can sometimes spoil the atmosphere. Ask Me where the...
