The venue was about 15/20 minutes’ walk from the Westferry Circus Car Park. You see a wall of Green bottles, you know you have arrived at the correct entrance to the venue. We had reserved a table for 6. We were seated at the far right of the restaurant by the co-owner of the restaurant. Glad we did as it soon filled up with others waiting for spaces to become available. I would say the capacity is 30 at a stretch. If you are expecting a wow factor interior, you will be disappointed. The decor and seating are quite basic and it was rather warm as no fan or air-conditioning was on. The highlight of that room is the fetching hanging circular lantern lights, swaying in the wind that was attempting to enter the room. This aside, we had come here to sample the cuisine that a member of our party had researched about. Once we all decided, we placed our order. The Vegetable Spring Rolls were perfectly crispy with a balanced filling. Went well with the supplied sweet chilli dip. To suit some dietary needs, they were flexible enough to make some of our dishes without any garlic or chilli, so that was good. Salt & Chilli Tofu and the Salt & Chilli Aubergine without chilli and garlic hit the mark. With reference to the Bún with Crispy Tofu (we were expecting a Bún, but we were served just small pieces of coated cubed tofu) - Dan Dan Noodles were wholesome and tasty sprinkled with spring onions - Stir-Fried Cumin Beef was inviting and was enjoyed by the one member in our party - We wanted a chicken-based variation of the Stir-Fried Cumin Beef as well. Unfortunately, this could not be done. What we finally agreed on was Stir Fried Cumin Prawns which proved to be a successful option. Perhaps they can add that to the menu. We had 3 portions of Rice to accompany this feast. Each of the dishes came and they were excellent and cooked to perfection and piping hot. My personal Pièce de resistance was the Prawn Tamarind; wow is how I would describe it. Married with the additional sliced fresh red chilli and chilli oil we requested, it hit the perfect balance 10/10. This would be my Number one Choice. We even took the Green Papaya Prawn Salad as a takeaway but it didn’t materialise until the very end and only when we reminded the owner a few times, obviously warn out my now. The dessert choice in really minimalistic, choice of Banana fritters, vanilla ice-cream and Mochi. We settled on the fritters and ice-cream to conclude the event which again was tasty. We could not get our Westferry Circus 3-hour Car Park complimentary parking validated as this restaurant is beyond its zone, so we ended paying £10 parking. Also, some active cooling needs to be provided for customers comfort as it was far too warm in there. It would also be nice to have the option on a few more dishes to substitute chicken for those who do not eat beef or pork. A 10% gratuity is added to the bill. We would recommend it is best to Book a table well in advance as it fills up quickly. You don't want to be disappointed with a long wait. To conclude, I have attached some photographs showing some of the fabulous dishes we savoured. Compliments to the joint owner server and the partner Chef who we did not see, they make an excellent team. With this level of cuisine flavours they could contemplate expanding into the adjoining home counties like Kent and Essex. I know they would be warmly received. Look forward to our next visit.

Yummy food, good customer service and nice & relaxing vibes. I ordered the salt & chilli squid, Zha Jiang noodles and peach ice tea. I enjoyed my meal so much and the time I spent in this restaurant.

SUMMARY The Xian spicy noodles will make you come back again and again. Kudos to the service staff for a genuine and fast service - you deserve a rare 5/5 rating. FOOD We tried the xian pork a noodles and xian chicken noodles. Both were extraordinarily delicious! The noodles are perfectly cooked and the meat is well seasoned. The best dish was the xian chicken noodles. As a side I also tried their 'pork hamburger'. This is more of a fastfood type of product however given the price it was alright. DRINKS We had the tea - as expected. One note to the restaurant: the cups are quite small and aren't dual layered so some people might burn their fingers (If they are not used to the Chinese style tea pot). SERVICE Greeted by two people doing an excellent job, along with fast service and payment as well, this is what made me decide on 5 stars in this review. AMBIENCE The ambience / instagrammability of the place is just average. While they did hang some plants (fake) to green things up you still get the feeling that you are sitting in a canteen. The highlight of the room was the lighting - the light bulbs as well as the lighting itself was perfectly calibrated for this kind of place. Don't come here for pictures, come here for a genuine meal! VALUE The value is above average, considering the amount of meat you get. My partner did comment saying the portion sizes maybe is on the small side however I disagree. Good value place.

We were excited to try the new restaurant. However, we left disappointed. The biggest factor that turned us off, besides the bland food, was that we felt cheated when the bill came and the prices on the receipt was different, than what was presented on the menu, as much as 30% higher.

When we entered the staff seemed friendly, gave us a table immediately and was quick to bring us menus, take our orders. The food came surprisingly fast. The broth from the soup was lovely, the rare beef nicely cooked, however the noodles were extremely overcooked. The pork dish was extremely fatty, but substantially overpriced for the portion size and the quality of the meat. The house red wine was horrible and totally not drinkable, however the bottle of Sake was delicious. We ordered an extra bowl of rice and no other dishes, and our bill came to £50. For the mediocre quality of food, bland taste, I think the restaurant is massively overpriced. I fail to understand why the place only has 5-star reviews.

Adding insult to injury was the sneaky price on the bill different to the menu. This was extremely disappointing, when we pointed this out politely to the manager, he simply shrugged and said all the menus are out of date, however when we sat down, he told us the restaurant has only been open for a week.

Also I understand it’s a new restaurant and must iron out issues, but this felt deliberate. I have little hope the quality and flavors improve. We feel you can get better qualify for the same price or less money somewhere else on the island.

ps. Final note, to his credit the manager, did return the difference in cash when we...
