Don’t ever go to this place!!! This place was the worst place I have ever been to! The worst customer service, we faced severe RACISM!! The restaurant employees used the F word on us and called us a “princess”. They ganged up on us without any respect towards their customers whatsoever.
They don’t deserve to be open and deserve to be shutdown!!
There was a lady sitting next to us told us to shut up and started to threaten us. We had just sat down and she started to tell us to keep it low, we weren’t even loud and top of that it’s a public place and it’s not her right to be rude to another customer. Then she called the cafe’s employees and they started speaking in a common language which we could not understand and the employees started taking her side. We told the employees and the manger she’s being rude and they started to back the lady up. the employees started to act super rude to us too- called us the F word, princess and all sorts of things.
I don’t know who that customer was but it was extremely unprofessional of the cafe to take the other customers side instead of diffusing the situation. Then they said they CANNOT serve us!! Then we spoke to them again and they said ok and again they said they can’t serve us.
The customer had some hold on this cafes employees. We have never felt this threatened and bullied in our life. Even employees that were not involved in the drama started mocking us!!! It’s shameful how they can treat their customers like this! And nothing was done and we left the restaurant and definitely never ever coming here again! The lady was hysterically laughing and started calling us trash and how she tried to kick us out! And the employees were all just laughing along
Never ever visit this place! You can always find shisha...
Read moreWe visited 8th March 2019 (3 colleagues), we had a reservation in the evening which was booked 3 weeks prior. On arrival, we were greeted by a lady who didn't really greet us at all. After confirming our reservation, the lady later came up to us only to tell us there is a hidden charge of £45 per person minimum spend and £5 for the entertainment should we wish to eat our food downstairs. After a bit of a shock to the system and the lady approaching us again asking us not to sit in a certain area as we mulled the extra charges over a cup of tea we decided we would still go ahead with it as we didn't really have a backup plan.
Overall really poor service, they really need a crash course on customer service. The food was okay but the quantity was inadequate for the price asked for, a mixed grill platter for 2 is really just a kids meal. We were hurried into leaving as they had made double bookings, took our plates when we hadn't finished and asked us to leave in 10 minutes. Really felt unwelcome from the start and would never go back. There was no entertainment apart from loud music, no belly dancer either by 930pm so not sure why we asked initially to pay a minimum of £45 each + £5 for the entertainment. (Which btw we didn't pay in the end due to some fierce complaints by myself and colleagues.)
To sum up then, really, really poor customer service and overpriced food. Avoid this place, there are so many better restaurants which are affordable and know how to threat...
Read morePerfect food, drinks and sisha
After attending a birthday party the day before, we decided we wanted to continue having a fun time in London to make the most of the weekend.
A friend suggested we visit the Mamounia Lounge as a venue in Mayfair.
Upon arrival we were given a table and our hostess was Gabriela.
We ordered wine and an apéritif to go along with our sisha; this was our first time!!
Gabriela who was excellent in her customer service, explained how to consume the sisha and suggested an amazing range of food items from their menu.
She was perfect in explaining to us the different range of food items and this made it so much easier.
To be honest, Gabriela was a godsend. After a little deliberation and with her assistance we ordered the following items:
Moutabel, smoked aubergine puree with tahini, pomegranate, olive oil and spices
Spicy Merguez sausages
Cheese Briouat, Goat’s cheese pastries
Lamb Tagine, sweet slow cooked lamb shoulder served ins a sweet sauce topped with prunes, pears, sultantas and almond shavings
Baklava
We were overjoyed with the presentation of the food and the service provided.
Gabriela made our meal and experience so much more enjoyable with her professionalism and her knowledge of the Middle Eastern food and culture.
She is a credit to the establishment and guided our evening perfectly.
I would definitely return and would recommend it to visitors to Mayfair.
Whatever you decide to do, ask for...
