We drove 1 hour to come. Our 2nd visit here, 1st time was in the afternoon when they were quite empty… we loved the service and food at that time, therefore planned a 2nd visit with a couple of friends on my Birthday yesterday evening.
The place was packed, and we could only see 1 waiter serving a group of 15-20 people as well as all our tables downstairs.
We ordered the food, after a long 30-35 min wait, it all came, except the chilly panner was a quarter bowl full. Taking it as a 1 off mistake, we just told the waiter having a laugh about it, and not to worry.
We then ordered the same jeera rice, same garlic naan and 1 more butter milk we had before, as a 2nds, but only plain rice and plain naan came to our table, and no butter milk. It took 25 mins to arrive, while our curry and daal had gone cold. We asked to reheat, which took another 10 mins, so its either having the curry and dall cold, or rice and naan. We asked again for the buttermilk, which did not arrive at all, so we left it.
When water was ordered approx 15 mins we had to wait for that as well.
We saw the waiter running up and down sweating and taking all the orders (clearly they were short staffed). We asked the for the manager 3 times between 8.30 and 9.10pm. At 9.10pm we were told that he finished his shift and left.
At the end, we were really frustrated and told the waiting staff we are extremely unhappy with this today, and its spoilt our day out. He spoke to us for a good few mins, we asked if they were just short staffed today? He said no, its always this busy in the evenings and hes the only one for the downstairs orders.
He offered us 10% discount on our bill, I was veryy unhappy and told him it doesnt seem enough for the service we received today, then he told us, without the manager if he gives more it can go out from his wages. We were shocked at this, and told him he doesnt need to give us the 10% either, its not fair on his hard work. He insisted and reduced it from the £70 bill which also included 12% service charge where there was not proper service.
The owners here have very less staff for the profit, manager cares less about unhappy customers, waiting staff are trying there best to keep the customers happy, the review is for the owner and the manager, I’d give the waiters 5 star for their hard work.
Will not be coming back! Table 17 (booked from...

Read moreWe were seated in the basement area and it was very cold we had to keep our jumpers on and even then it was almost unbearable. I asked twice to check whether heating was on or could be turned up but was told nothing could be done about it as they are not allowed to adjust the heating. We were offered a table at the street level area but it wasn't much better and we had finished the starters anyway. To be frank we just wanted to finish our meal and get out as soon as possible. However where the staff hang out near the till at the back of the restaurant it was positively hot! For the simple food we ordered, it took a long time for the main course to come and that was made worse by the very cold area in the basement in which we had our table. Everyone of the customers had kept their jumpers or winter coats on in the basement. The service was not great either considering there the restaurant was less than half full, we had to wait ages for waiters to come down the stairs and check if we needed anything, maybe because they realize its freezing downstairs and rather hang out near the till! The food was way overpriced for what it was. £4.50 for two samosa!. The prices on their website are shown as quite a bit cheaper so be aware of this as you may get a bill larger than expected if you go by the website only. The food however was good. I don't think i will be recommending this place to anyone in a hurry or going...
