I feel so sad to leave 2 star review on this pub. Because it is an amazing pub, beautiful inside and out. We were so happy to have our lunch(27th Oct 2022)

We ordered Fish&Chips, Steak and Ale pie and steak and chips. Portions were all good, Steak and Ale pie itself was beautiful. but the mashed potato it came out with was horrible. Either it was on the plate for a long time and kept it warm for the next customer or Maybe it was made with an instant powder mashed potato(i very much doubt they would have done that) it was terrible. there was a crust on the surface of the mash. we were starving(it was nearly 2pm) so we mostly ate it all with delicious gravy over it.

My son ordered steak and chips. it was horrendously chewy and cooked to nearly well-done. we forgot to mention when ordering we would like to medium but they didn't ask us either.

So when paying the bill, the lady asked us if everything was ok. My polite husband said yes. But I added 'Except for the steak' and i said it was chewy and all. She just went 'Oh' with the face 'you know what, just pay the bill and go' Nothing but 'oh' We didn't want the refund or anything. It would have been just fine and left the place happy if she said ' oh, i'm sorry to hear that. or i'll pass that to the chef(Even if she wasn't going to) She just said 'Oh' with a blank face. Feeling Rather awkward that we mentioned something like that, we paid the bill and left.

Terrible customer service.

i was going to say the rest of the food was lovely. but the look on her face stopped me from saying anything good.

I hope she wasn't the owner. I hope the owner sees this review.

Otherwise it's a kind of pub you'd be proud to take your foreign friends to show how lovely...

I'd go as far as saying this is the best Pub in London! The staff are very welcoming and friendly. We were greeted by the manager Julia who was welcoming and professional, she explained how to order food and drinks at the bar which was very helpful for us! The atmosphere is very nice during the daytime with plenty of space to sit with friends or family. My friends and I were so impressed with the service, we were served by two barmen called Rob and Tom who both were extremely friendly and very helpful when ordering. Once we finished ordering our food at the bar and after a few pints later, they had our food arrive momentarily which looked and tasted incredible! I recommend the pies and sharing platters they are awesome!! The Swan has a very good range of drinks both on draft and bottled so they have something for everyone! The atmosphere inside is very cosy and The owner Steph told us that the pub is full of history! At the same time during the evening, it's busy and full of life with other happy customers all enjoying drinks together! We had a friend who had a food allergy to which one of the staff called Rebecca handled my friends order with delicate and extra care and she was able to cater for their needs which was fantastic to see! I can not recommend a better pub for friends and family to come and visit, if you've never been and are in London visiting you must come and have a drink and experience The Swan in all its glory! Overall I'd give it a 5 star rating for everything and definitely number 1 pub in London for me...

Great food, amazing atmosphere and fantastic service from our bartender Andy!

my husband, eight-year-old daughter and dog called for lunch while our other daughter and I were in the hospital Next Door. They were so accommodating both adults and dogs! My husband had the halloumi wraps and they were absolutely amazing and so tasty and my eight-year-old had called goujons and chips … A large potion and plenty to fill them! my daughter and i arrived and ordered The nachos to share, but without the jalapeños, garlic bread, Crispy potato smash and thick chips … All was delicious, especially the nachos!

both My husband and I were both served by a gentleman by the name of Andy who was so lovely. I asked to order a plain chicken for our dog and this was not a problem at all for him- Although I’m not sure if the kitchen staff were happy with this as it was a bit of an unusual request A lot if they were unhappy with this Nobody showed that so thank you so much for.

A dog was so comfortable and was given arrival.

I just come out of a consultant meeting at the hospital and had been crying and felt exhausted But could not have walked in to a better pub with the kindness that was shown to my husband before me and myself, My daughters, I’m especially my dog.

I will definitely return to this pub on my regular visits to the hospital without a doubt!

Thank you, Andy for making a experience in London so welcome for the short time we were...

The hidden gem of Holbrook. Found this on our last day in Europe/UK Stopped by The Swan for a nice lunch. Cosy, British pub vibes with a decent menu with plenty of different options. We saw the size of the fish n chips and decided to share it. It was a generous serving with massive fish, good handful of chips and peas. We were politely convinced to get dessert as well and we are very glad it was suggested. We got a sticky toffee pudding with custard and it was perfect for a very cold winters day. The highlight was the service. All smiles, polite, very accommodating to all of our needs. Jerome was a stand out for this. Approachable, friendly and held a decent conversation with us just because he could. His service matched the environment, warm and friendly. The Swan is the perfect example of a classic British pub experience.

A beautiful pub in a great location, perfect after Italian food at the place next door. Full of Victorian fittings inside, and very nice outside too. One shouldn't generalise the big brewery, chain-owned pubs, as Greene King do a great job. They actually keep the interiors far more characterful than many much smaller or independent groups, and strike a balance between clean and inviting, but interesting, including the variety of pictures on the walls. I also think they changed their policy on food a couple of years ago, with more actual prep/cooking; I haven't eaten in one for a while, but I noted the fish and chips looked more 'real' than before (in my local GK pub, The Railway, West Hampstead), and upon asking, they said they do batter the fish themselves, it's not all freezer-pack stuff (chips are, but those work fine).

Great pub for a quick drink. Small and cozy with a nice vibe. Bartender explained card machine wasn't working, but we were able to order and pay via their app. Got 5 small sharing plates. Chicken dumplings were meh, rather chewy and dough. Sticky chicken was delicious, as were the cod goujons. The crispy crushed potatoes with crispy parmesan were NOT roasted or crispy. It was a bowl of boiled new potatoes with unmelted parmesan on top. £7 for 5 boiled potatoes. I tried to return them and adk for something else, but my husband ate them before I could get the server's attention. They were gross and terribly dear. The sausages were dreadful. Great drinks, hit and miss on food
