A lovely meal spoilt at the end by rudeness and bad attitude from Thomas. We ordered lasagne (highly recommended it was delicious) and spaghetti vongole. The food was absolutely lovely and so was the house wine. Excellent service until the end of the meal when we came to pay the bill. Really I must complain about Thomas who dealt with our bill. We wanted to split the bill into three and Thomas asked if we wanted to add a tip. We had noticed the service charge was added onto our final total, so we declined to add another tip on top of this service charge. Normally a restaurant will either have a service charge OR an open tip system - not both. When we declined to add another tip on top, Thomas was extremely rude and proceeded to engage in a very passive aggressive argument with us, suggesting that as students if we couldn’t pay a tip then we shouldn’t have come to the restaurant. Quite frankly this is incredibly rude, especially considering the restaurant had already included service charge in our final total. Thomas brought up several rude and quite frankly unacceptable points about us as customers which really just isn't on. Honestly it was such a shame as we had had a lovely meal and really this was so unnecessary of Thomas. Furthermore any possibility of an extra tip on top of service charge was automatically removed after such a rude response. Quite frankly we left with an extremely bad taste...
Read moreFood was ok.. Meh. The bolognaise was pretty much meatless, just tomato sauce. The pizza was ok, not spectacular. Prices are too high for what you get.. BE AWARE of the way they will force you to tip! The lady is very aggressive, even though I said I didn't want any dessert and asked the bill 3times she kept insisting. So I took some cake to go.. £ 10 for a small piece.. But since it was home made and she kinda forced it on me, I decided to go for it. Then when she presented the bill, I told her she could round it up with 2 pounds extra, she started laughing and saying 'this is not enough! You have to pay more for the staff.' She even typed a higher amount herself on the paying terminal.. The total was £ 67.40, I said '70 is ok', she proceeded to type '75'.. NOT OK !!!!! It got very awkward and I told her I didn't appreciate that, it felt like she was scamming us! We both had to raise our voices and remind her she already forced the cake on me and her food was not spectacular and too little for that price. Also remind you we were there for 30 minutes, only. A small glass of wine is £ 10, coke is £ 5. So to sum it up.. Overpriced! Rude! Disrespectful! She made us leave angry and frustrated that we even took that disgusting cake of hers (homemade my 🍑). We would never recommend this to anyone. So don't give these type of...
Read moreI recently had the unfortunate experience of dining at this restaurant and I must say, it was a complete disappointment. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted by unfriendly and unprofessional staff. It seemed like they were doing us a favor by allowing us to dine there.
The ambiance was lackluster, with outdated decor and uncomfortable seating. The tables were dirty and it took forever for someone to come and clean them. It was clear that cleanliness was not a priority for this establishment.
Now let's talk about the food. The menu boasted a wide variety of dishes, but unfortunately, the execution fell flat. The food was bland and lacked any sort of flavor or creativity. It felt like I could have made a better meal at home with half the effort.
To make matters worse, the service was incredibly slow. We had to wait an absurd amount of time for our orders to be taken and even longer for the food to arrive. It seemed like the staff was more interested in chatting amongst themselves than attending to the needs of their customers.
Overall, my experience at this restaurant was extremely disappointing. From the unwelcoming staff to the lackluster food and slow service, I cannot recommend this place to anyone. Save your money and go somewhere else where you will actually be treated with respect and served...
