I come here regularly as I work in the building in front of pauls, Id like to say the meal deal is great on weekdays and I think most the staff is great, especially the blonde skinny lady that always wears a ponytail she’s very lovely and the guy with long hair who wears glasses. They provide great service but.. The first thing I would like to note on is that the breakfast says it’s from 8am-2pm,
the last time I came at 12pm and they told me they couldn’t do it that day as the kitchen staff is on break,
and then the other time last I came at 1 pm and they said they couldn’t do it as they are training a new person,
And then this time I came at 1pm again and they said they are not able to do scrambled eggs, only poached eggs, so I took poached although I wanted scrambled eggs. If the kitchen closes early , the manager should definitely consider changing the time on the menu, the blonde girl with ponytail had to convince the kitchen to make me it and the short lady that wears hijab was frowning as per usual and said she wouldn’t do it, so the other person working at the kitchen cooked it , (fyi my parents are Muslim, it’s not about her being a hijabi) it’s about her being rude everytime I come in even tho I smile and ask her how is she and speak to her very politely, she should work on her attitude because people that she serve are not trying to upset her, we are simply coming in for food on our work lunch. And I have worked as a barista for a year prior to this, the latte art isn’t existent in this cafe either
Id like to note that because I worked in cafes for a long time in the past, I am firstly very understanding and polite, and secondly expect to be treated with decency , for me to criticise a coffee...
Read moreDon’t bother to waste your money here. I have been to 90% of Paul cafes in London. Im a regular Paul customer. Went this cafe a couple of months ago, one of the casher was extremely rude. Because i didn’t tell her about my royalty card before i paid, apparently it was customer’s fault that she didn’t scan my royalty card. BUT hear this out! She took my phone to check my royalty card and scanned the voucher to give me a free coffee 😂 Miscommunication happens and I’m not precious about my royalty card. But she was pretty aggressive talking to me in front of my friend and other customers behind me. I asked her name (she didn’t wear a name tag), then she said ‘why do you want my name? Coz you wanna hire me?’ Then walked off! Other assistant came up to me and apologized and said.. apparently there was short staffs that day. But this doesn’t mean they can be rude to customers? I raised this issue to the head office, and nothing happened. They didn’t wanna communicate via emails but want to call me. Wonder why. The day we visited, only two tables were with customers but all empty tables were very messy and dirty. We had to clean the table for ourselves. Extremely disappointed with the whole experience with Paul and i would not bother visit Paul again especial never this place!
One star is even too...
Read moreStopped in for a quick breakfast as it looked like one of the nicer places on the strip.
Big mistake - ordered a savoury panini, croissant and salmon avocado scrambled eggs. Cost 20 pound and the savoury dishes were basic and close to inedible.
The panini was tiny and overcooked in the microwave. Bread was soggy and tomato was radioactive hot. Croissant was fine but for 5 pound should’ve gone to Pret.
Cherry on top was the avocado scrambled eggs. Served as part of the brunch menu (8am-2pm), they had to check with the kitchen if they were available at 10am. Took 30 mins to come out and were the most inedible eggs I’ve ever tasted. Powdery and crumbly, words never used to describe scrambled eggs before. Salmon came straight from a can and was cold on top of hot powdered eggs. We were just lucky to not have ordered the pouched eggs like the table next to us which came out wet and in the shape of plastic moulds. For 9 pound and one thin measly slice, they’re having an absolute laugh.
Save your money and grab something in the waitrose/sainsbury down the road. It’ll be more edible and you’ll save yourself...
