A Ritual of Flavor and Health at Pilpel There’s something wonderfully ritualistic about lunch at Pilpel on Alie Street. Today, like many times before, I found myself seated at 11:30 AM sharp, indulging in the freshest offerings right out of the oven — my little secret to beating the queue and enjoying the best selections. But the true stars of Pilpel are Yulia, Alex, and Alberta, whose service shines with genuine warmth and attentive care. Whether it’s businessmen on their break savoring the spicy zest of hot falafel or friends gathering for a healthful feast, Pilpel stands out as a landmark of vibrant, healthful eating in London. The falafel, a heavenly blend of taste and texture, seems to be everyone’s ritual here, mine included. My heartfelt thanks to the staff and Pilpel for the delicious hummus, creamy tahini, and perfectly cooked falafel that bring a taste of home to every meal. Pilpel isn’t just a meal; it’s a cherished tradition.

Never been here before but was really surprised; the food was delicious, the falafels tasted amazing and the salad was really fresh and had lots of flavour. I had the falafel container with feta and was offered extra falafel as I didn’t want pitta which was nice of the them. The staff were really nice, I don’t really leave reviews but thought they deserved a shout out. One girl with a hat was quick to explain any questions I had, was really friendly and offered me a free falafel to try, the cashiers were also lovely. I was even offered a stamp card without asking. Might actually go back tomorrow. :)

I don't think I've ever been to a fast food place with service as friendly as this one. Very welcoming from the beginning, and I got a falafel while I waited for the bowl. I got the falafel bowl, which comes with six falafels, eight if you skip the bread (which I did). It comes with hummus, your choice of salads, and your choice of sauces. The falafels were fresh, crispy and tasty. The hummus was smooth and creamy. For the amount and the quality of the food, I thought that the price was reasonable. I would definitely go there again, but maybe next time I would try their sabih.

Delicious, authentic Middle Eastern food at an affordable price. I visited here twice on my recent visit to London and really enjoyed the incredible food on each visit. On my first visit I had the 'saabich' which was a pita bread filled with houmous, aubergine and hard boiled egg, this was delicious. On my second visit I had a falafel and artichoke bowl served with a pita, this was even better and the falafels were the best I've tasted. The staff are also friendly and passionate, and explain everything. Lastly, the prices were extremely reasonable and good value for money, with the saabich costing only £6.59 and the falafel bowl costing only £9.49, I loved this eatery and will definitely visit again...

I went here for the first time today and I was blown away by the quality of the food, the price and the quantity you get for the price and the excellent service. When we were waiting the gentlemen serving gave us a falafel to eat while we were waiting. Definitely recommend! Good for vegetarians/vegans also.

*edit - went back a week later with my housemate before close and we both were sick in the morning. Something they served us wasn't right or sitting out all day or something.

One recommendation for the owner, switch to non plastic utensils such as bowls and cutlery with the current plastic crisis in mjind . Make Pilpel...
