Pizza Express, Pimlico: A National Pizza Day Disaster! My recent experience at the Pimlico Pizza Express for National Pizza Day was nothing short of a complete disappointment. Arriving as the 21st person in line, I was understandably optimistic about securing one of the coveted 60 free pizza tokens advertised. However, my hopes were quickly dashed.
Despite the terms and conditions clearly stating that the pizzas would be handed out on a "first come, first serve basis until stock lasts," the manager informed me that priority was given to bookings. This crucial piece of information was nowhere to be found in the advertised terms, leading to significant confusion and frustration. To add insult to injury, I even have video evidence of the manager explicitly stating that bookings took precedence over walk-ins, directly contradicting the advertised "first come, first serve" policy.
Even when I attempted to find an alternative solution by suggesting a takeaway, the manager refused, insisting that seating was only available for those with reservations. This inflexible approach felt unnecessarily rigid, especially considering the context of a promotional event designed to celebrate pizza and draw in customers.
Ultimately, I left the restaurant empty-handed and incredibly disappointed. The deceptive advertising regarding the "first come, first serve" offer, coupled with the manager's unhelpful and inflexible attitude, left a sour taste in my mouth.
Cons: Misleading advertising: The "first come, first serve" claim was demonstrably false. Poor management: The manager's inflexibility and apparent contradiction of the advertised terms were unacceptable. Unclear communication: The requirement for booking was not adequately communicated, leading to confusion and disappointment. Unfulfilled expectations: I arrived in good faith with a reasonable expectation of receiving a pizza based on the advertised terms, only to be turned away. Overall:
Based on this experience, I can not recommend the Pimlico Pizza Express. Their handling of the National Pizza Day promotion was poorly executed and ultimately resulted in a negative customer experience. The lack of clear communication, coupled with misleading advertising, suggests a lack of respect for their customers' time and expectations. I hope that Pizza Express addresses these issues and ensures that future promotions are conducted with greater transparency...
Read moreI took my young people here to eat for a celebratory dinner, as soon as we walked in we was not welcomed but instead the staff just stared at us confusingly. We was then seated and the guy that served us didn’t even seem like he wanted to take our order the service was terrible no smiles just a miserable bunch of people yet we are paying customers. I already knew they didn’t want us there as we don’t look like their normal clientele. Such a shame. And to add they was whispering about us and peaking at us sneakily to which I found even more strange. Racist staff and what’s worse the guy serving us was black but didn’t look happy to be serving black people and the white staff didn’t want anything to do with us disgraceful treatment of...
Read moreWe had a pizza making party for 15x 4 year olds and a few younger siblings. They had a ball and ran riot in the downstairs space, which made for a great private party space. The staff were very helpful - nothing too much trouble, and Ervin was a fantastic party facilitator, really engaging the kids, despite their young age. Patrick was also extremely helpful, even bringing armloads of balloons and presents to our car afterwards!
One piece of constructive feedback I would give is that young kids need quite a fast pace to stay engaged, e.g. we were standing around not quite knowing what to do at the beginning until things got going, and again between dough balls and pizza being ready. but Ervin saved it! Many thanks for a...
