Today is my last day of my twenty-two nights' booking. I had a very lovely hotel experience. The staff were really nice; the receptionists and the housekeepers. The receptionists were really nice and helpful during my first 14 days @ the hotel, when I had to be quarantined. Also, the day I checked in, I arrived an hour and a half before normal check-in time, and I was lucky enough to have my room ready at that time. That was really helpful cos I had a long flight.

I looked at previous reviews before travelling so I already packed an extension cord. However, I discovered that the socket did not match (U.S vs U.K charging head difference). The female receptionist during my check-in, was kind enough to help me with an adaptor when I asked. Unfortunately, I wish I knew all their names. I only remember Chris, cos all the reviews mentioned him.

My room had a really good view. I had booked a double room even though it was just me, cos I didn't want to take chances with booking a single room with the reviews I had seen online prior to my stay. I was really glad I did. It was also beside the elevator but I didn't have any disturbance, whatsoever. The walls were a bit thin, and occasionally, you could hear the other guests. Unfortunately, that included some moaning on two nights, but otherwise, it wasn't bad. It wasn't facing the road so I didn't have a problem with noise.

The bathroom was okay for me; with hot water and fresh towels, changed daily. You'd only have a problem with the bathroom if you're claustrophobic.

There was no breakfast cos of COVID restrictions but I was able to have food delivered to the hotel so I didn't mind a bit.

The only problem I had was the Wi-Fi. It was poor, even though my room was on the first floor; difficulties connecting and when it did, for a little while, before having issues. It was really frustrating @ times and I had no choice but to buy a SIM card and get data. The one star loss is cos of the bad Wi-Fi otherwise, it would have been a full 5 stars.

Overall, the hotel, has a good location, with restaurants and shops nearby, although I had some limitation as the lockdown started just few days after my quarantine ended. There is a bus stop right @ the hotel door, and another few feet away. The Victoria station is about 10 mins' walking distance away. I would definitely recommend this hotel and if I'm ever in Central London again, I'm...

Terrible experience, let me elaborate. As soon as we entered the hotel, the receptionist welcomed us and after the typical formalities it was time for him to show us our room. He started by saying that it was our lucky day because we had been "promoted" to a better room! What better way to check in at a hotel, right? He said that our room is number LG something. At that moment I was very intrigued because I'd never heard of this "code" name before. Then he continued explaining "you will go to the elevator and press floor -1 (minus one)". Apparently, my understanding of the word promotion is completely different than the receptionist's understanding. If I'm sent in the LG floor, which is in fact a fancy name for BASEMENT, I'm more demoted rather than promoted! Don't get me wrong, I'm not a pretentious, wanna be high-class person or anything like that. Nevertheless, when I pay almost 200€ for one night I'd expect to at least not sleep in the BASEMENT right under a bus stop where people come and go at all times and can easily look inside my room. Privacy and security account for zero. Furthermore, if I am going to be put in the BASEMENT I'd like to know it in advance so that at least I will know that I will have made a well-informed decision! In addition, if I am put in the basement I'm expecting to pay a basement room price and not a 3rd or 4th floor room price. I spent 7 days traveling, by far the worst part of my entire vacation was this hotel stay.

To summarize:

  1. If you put people in the BASEMENT let them know in advance!
  2. If you put people in the BASEMENT charge basement prices!
  3. To the receptionist: next time you say someone was promoted, say it if they change from a double room to a suite or something. Not if you put them to the basement. The way you said it to us sounded very ironic and not at all honest.

I hope that more people raise this topic which I perceive as a cheap tactic from the side of the hotel in order to lure more unsuspecting tourists. If I had known in advance I would have definitely booked...

I stayed in the apartments that were separate from the hotel on another street (Lupus Street), and in a less busy neighbourhood, with close by grocery/restaurants/underground. The building was well-maintained and kept clean. I appreciated the garbage being emptied every day by housekeeping. The kitchen was the perfect size with all the necessities (fridge, microwave, kettle, dishes, pots/pans, sink, stove top), and the bed was super comfortable. I felt absolutely safe in my hotel room as a single woman travelling alone, and I think it had to do with the keys that came through an app on my phone. I liked that the lights in the hallway came on automatically when they sensed I was there. I appreciated the shampoo/body wash the hotel supplied so I didn't have to bring my own; the rainfall shower head was so relaxing and the water got really hot (loved that). It was easy to control the temperature in the room as needed. There was a primary school across the street and when classes let out on weekdays, the children were loud and rowdy. But only for an hour after school before everyone dispersed, and there were police officers on standby just in case on only one of the days I was there. I walked through the throng of children on my way to and from groceries and they did not bother me.

I stayed in this hotel for a week on February 2023, booking a single room with a bed for one. The room was very good, with a comfortable bed, air conditioning, private shower, electric kettle, TV, desk, and room service cleaning the room daily. I will note I was placed on the first floor of the building, with a window facing towards an alley on the back and therefore it was locked close, but the room didn't feel dusty or anything. There is also a simple breakfast offered on the underground floor (-1), consisting of some toast, jam and cereal - but there are several cafes a minute of walk away! The hotel is 5 minutes of walk away from Pimlico Underground, 10 mins from Victoria, and have a bus station leading right to Piccadilly and back outside the door. The area felt very safe to me, very calm and quiet, but with several pubs, bars, cafes and restaurants a few minutes of walk away - can recommend the Warwick Pub especially on Sunday. They also have an elevator, and they offer luggage storage on the check in and check out days. They took a 25 pounds deposit that I got back when I checked out of the room.
