It’s hard to keep up with new artwork in galleries which are hard to commute to – the Store Street Gallery was in the middle of a creative street in Bloomsbury, a short walking distance from Tottenham Court Road. The widely opened door intrigued my curiosity. I went in.
The gallery had a very interesting and memorable selection of artwork distributed onto two floors of the gallery space. When I visited, they were showcasing an exhibition focusing on the human figure -the ceramic works of Pierre Williams were extremely interesting, especially the painted ceramic skulls smudged with golden paint on top of detailed motifs. The abstract landscape paintings signed by Theo Pratt were simply amazing.
The interior of the gallery was very bright and spacious, allowing enough space to wander around and admire the artwork. The staff were very approachable and polite. The thing I most respected about their attitude was that they allowed visitors to explore the displayed artwork in peace, which relieved me a great deal as I could simply enjoy the art without feeling I was irrelevant to the context because I wouldn’t be able to afford it.

Right in the centre of town but away from the hustle and bustle was this rare gem packed with many amazing artworks. As an amateur artist myself it was refreshing to see such a diverse mix of artists which were so strong in techniques and skill. The service was also great as it didn't feel like an empty cold place I was made to feel welcome and evidently made a wonderful purchase of a bronze sculpture for my wife birthday.
