Located in the posh area of Belgrave street, is a modern contemporary hotel of the same name -- The Belgrave.
Upon entering the hotel premises, you will be welcomed with a great amount of understated quiet luxury. The hotel's interior wasntloud but definitely something you wouldn't want to miss. It has two receiving areas, one of which has an iMac that guests can use for basic searching and printing purposes.
Check-in was supposed to be at 14:00, but we were allowed to check in at around 11:45 which was very surprising and a HUGE plus. Thanks to the main reception staff which I forgot to ask the name.
Our room was 504 which was located at the 5th floor. It's a standard double bed room that has an ensuite. The room was activated by a key card.
The room is an absolute piece of gem. Not only it looked beautiful and spotless but it was very functional too. The bed and pillows were very comfy which helped me and my fiancée sleep soundly. It also has a table which has coffee and tea making facilities and could serve as a small dining area as well. The bedside lights also had reading lights so you won't disturb your partner if you want to read at night. There's also a 32-inch television that has basic channels, nothing fancy, but could do. After all, I did not stay in a hotel to watch TV. The view from the window was spectacular, I could easily see the Big Ben, London Eye, and the parliament building. It was even better at night. But if you're not into it, the window has a a black out curtain and a regular curtain to block the views and light. It also had a centralised type of air conditioner which was very handy and usable.
The toilet and shower room was spacious and the design is very consistent of being modern contemporary. Basic toiletries and clean towels were provided. We liked the rainfall shower head so much, but it also had a regular shower head if you need it. The view from the toilet is the same as the bedroom's. We were just extra cautious when using the toilet though as the people from the other side of the building might see us when using the shower or toilet so we had to close the curtains at times.
I had a great chat with one of the staffs named Tillen (I'm not really sure how it's spelled) during the night when I was using the iMac downstairs to print some important documents. He was very helpful and kind.
The Belgrave also offers breakfast if you chose it when booking your stay. It was a continental type of breakfast so you have your basic grains, bread, and pastries. They were all freshly made and I must admit I really liked their croissants. There was also a coffee machine which made everything easier and faster. The breakfast area is located downstairs at the left hand side of the main reception. The kitchen staff was also very accommodating and cheked on us if we're fine. I also would like to appreciate how beautiful the breakfast area was especially with the glass roof. Please see attached photo.
Additional amenities in the room are: a pin protected safe, iron and ironing board, slippers, plenty of clothes hangers, and a hair dryer.
Overall, The Belgrave is a really good place to stay if you want something extra. There really is a quiet luxury here. I would definitely come back here with a loved one to spend a day or two to escape the...
Read moreHospitality!!!??? WHAT A JOKE! The location and rooms maybe ok, but I’ve never been treated so badly in my life. I checked into the belgrave in Pimlico on Saturday afternoon after paying upfront for my room and as customary swiped my credit card on arrival to cover any additional costs that may be incurred. That evening my wife and I went into the west end and unfortunately had our bag containing all of our cash, credit and debit cards, car keys and mobile phone stolen. “We were devastated”. Our devastation never ended there. In the morning we went down to reception and explained what had happened and asked if the hotel could possibly help us out and charge my credit card which had already been swiped, for £50.00 and refund us £50.00 in cash in order to give us enough money to make our way home. We were informed that this was not possible as anything charged to a room has to be accounted for by the sale of a product. I asked if I could then have £50.00 paid into their bank account and if they could then give me the £50.00 in cash as I was completely stranded. This suggestion was met with a complete and absolute NO!!! I asked if there were any staff member including the indifferent receptionist and duty manager, who we were trying to explain our predicament to if they would be prepared to help us out. They both treated us as though we were tramps walking off the street asking for some change for our next bottle of cider, not like paying guests who had just been robbed and still traumatised. At no point did any staff member offer any form of sympathy or help, but rather treated us with complete disdain and contempt. We checked out of this hotel without having breakfast or even a cup of tea, as I was not prepared to give these disgusting people another penny of my money. I have never been made to feel so cheap or bad in my life. THE STAFF AND MANAGEMENT OF THIS HOTEL ARE A DISGRACE TO THE...
Read moreDespite luxury interior, appaling customer service
While hotel's interior seems nice, the manner by which guests are treated is appaling. After arriving and being put in an underground mousetrap called an Executive room (level -1, people walking just above your head, no peace and quiet possible at all), I must express my distinct disapproval of appalling manner by which reception treats guests. I booked online for one night refused to stay in the allocated room as it has neither the view or the quietness advertised on multiple websites.
Upon my request for first change of rooms and then a refund and then a discussion with the manager, on 14th afternoon a person I believe was named Joao and his female colleague first managed to openly lie to me that hotel is fully booked (meanwhile online all rooms were still available for booking on the same dates), then express their very negative and insulting attitude towards my request, took it upon themselves to tell me what to do and what I should have done during booking and did pretty much everything opposite of what a hospitality professional should do. They made me feel unwelcome, almost cheated and in the end quite angry. I cannot for the life of me understand how any hotel manager allows this kind of behavior. Further, I cannot understand how a manager who can make decisions is not available at 5pm even over the phone and tells his employees not to call him – it might be worth reconsidering the hotel business which is a 24/7 thing and guests will always have requests to be managed.
My online booking agent stepped in to help resolve the issue (at agent's expense as well).
Avoid this place by all means, there are many options nearby for same level of service for less then...
