Potter & Reid ā Toynbee Street, London Review
Atmosphere & Vibe (4/5) Tucked away on Toynbee Street, Potter & Reid presents itself as a stylish yet standard cafĆ© setupāthink wood, marble interiors, coffee, pastries, and a clear focus on Instagram-friendly brunch dishes. From the look of things, the food might be the real star here, with a steady flow of diners enjoying well-presented plates.
Coffee Quality (4/5) I was here strictly for the coffeeāordered my usual flat white, takeaway, with my own cup saving me 20p, bringing it to Ā£3.80. ⢠The coffee was well-made, with clear care and attention from the barista. ⢠It delivered a smooth, creamy foam and a mellow, rounded bodyābalanced and easy to drink. ⢠While it didnāt offer that robust ākickā I tend to prefer for my first coffee of the day, it was still a solid, enjoyable cup.
If you lean towards softer, smoother coffee profiles, this is definitely your spot.
Value for Money (4/5) At Ā£3.80 (or Ā£4 without a reusable cup), it sits at the standard price point for specialty coffee in London. Given the quality and attention to detail, it feels fairābut not exceptional value.
Overall Rating: 4/5 Potter & Reid delivers a good, smooth flat white in a pleasant setting. While it may not satisfy those looking for a bold, punchy coffee, itās a great option for a second coffee of the day or when youāre after something more mellow and refined.
Would I return? Yesāespecially to try the food and pair it with a softer...

Do not fret though! With the last few dollars to my name I packed my bags and headed to London, why you might ask? Because I only speak English. Itād encourage me to put more effort into my adventures.
Lo and behold being in a new place doesnāt naturally boost oneās confidenceā¦so after a failed night out I stumbled upon this absolute gem with my boyos. A welcoming atmosphere, incredibly friendly staff, a haven of sorts for a weary soul. I ordered what my friend calls a Breakfast Bap sat in my seat and while I waited read up on books teaching how to boost oneās confidence. Then the gates of heaven opened, a beautiful sandwich with a rich yolk, glorious relish, and a stupendous sausage. (My English teacher told me I should practice my descriptive words)
Anyways it was tasty, 10/10 would recommend, didnāt have any...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWAS my favorite coffee shop when I just came to London and during the month when I lived around Liverpool St I always visited their place and got a coffee before going to school. But now everything just changed - I visited this place for the purpose of recollecting the good memories, but they just created a very boring screen-free policy which does not allow customers to use laptops during 12 to 3 pm. The lady whoās in charge of the place told me that I may still use it if the shop is not busy. Around 2pm there was only 3-4 tables of people and I thought it was already not that busy and had to deal with an urgent matter. However, the lady was quite annoyed and angry with my behavior although the no-screen policy didnāt make any sense at that time. When I apologized and explained I was handling an urgent matter she didnāt even look at me. So everything changed except they still have good food and coffee. But Iāll never visit this place ever as the people are no longer those guys I knew in the first place and the disgusting service really...
