FOR MORE, GO LISTEN TO OUR PODCAST - PUBTROTTERS PUBCAST

WE ALWAYS GIVE 5s AS ALL PUBS ARE DIFFERENT AND GREAT!

CONTEXT There for a 'meet our baby' social with some friends who hadn't met our 14 week year old daughter. Booked it 3 - 6pm ... we stayed till 8...

ATMOSPHERE LOVED this pub! Its slightly off the beaten track near Borough Station in South London, and so for a Saturday afternoon of chilled baby boozing, was perfect atmosphere. Its quite small and you can see everyone from everywhere in the pub. Also some chairs out the front where it really captures the sun in the late afternoon, perfect.

SERVICE Staff were lovely, very friendly and accommodating for us and our babyness which we appreciated. Fairly quiet, so if you're looking for a super busy part pub, maybe not this one, but maybe its different on other times.

STYLE Classic pub, looks like an oldy from outside and i'm sure has had a few iterations over the years, but the inside is tidy, modern, but keeping with the great pub aesthetic with these awesome looking 'booths' with curtains on them (not sure what goes on when curtains are shut, but there you go :) ).

TOILET Smelt lovely from the male end, my only criticism was baby changing was only in female toilets as far as i could see.

PRICE London, that is all i'll say, expect premium pay. £6.70 for one pint, varied depending on what you ordered though.

FOOD & DRINK SUPERB beer selection, both cast and keg, there seemed to be great choice of wine and spirits drank by our friends as well. We also had some polenta fries as a snack later on that were AMAZING! So yea...

After a long day of trekking around London we found this little pub close to the hotel. We had a wonderful time. Our waitress/bartender Rachael was incredibly kind and patient. We came in with 8 people and she quickly accommodated us with a smile. Right after us another large group of about 12-14 arrived. She and her co-bartender handled it with smiles and wonderful service. The drinks were quick and she was kind enough to let us have a quick sample to ensure we would be happy with our choices. We ordered food and it was all hot and well cooked. We got a variety- chicken burgers, tartar, potato wedges, gnocchi and pork collar. All were good and enjoyed. The only mention would be the gnocchi was a little mushy and the potato wedges could have used a dash of salt, but flavor was good. We truly enjoyed our time and if we were in town another night we would come back again for another round. Great service, good drinks and...

The food was good. The menu is interesting. Not very coherent and a bit ‘wannabe fancy’ without the chops to pull it off, but not bad either. Everyone should be able to find something they like but it’s a very odd mix of options for a pub and while it was quite tasty it wasn’t outstanding.

A good selection of drinks. There was one bartender who was fantastic. She took orders efficiently and was super friendly. The other guy there couldn’t hold more than one drink in his head at a time and went to serve people their food in the middle of pouring my drinks which meant I was waiting at the bar for about 20 minutes throughout my order. Every time he returned to me he asked me to repeat what else I had ordered. At least four times. It wasn’t great.

What was great was the quiz. Quizmaster was fabulous. Questions were excellent. It was super fun. would come back for this despite...

The prosecco was 8£ a glass and was served warm. Not impressed. I hate having to ask for ice for my warm prosecco. (For that price I expect it to be chilled... at any price I expect it to be chilled). It also wasn't that good of quality. Invited there because a friends friend was DJing (Didn't take requests, just played what he was paid to do, but was super nice none the less). The music was Brazilian disco? Lounge? Then some how turned into 80s pop. However the company was great. And the bar man from Canada was super nice as well.
