We were desperate and decided to try this pub that was quite clearly a tourist trap. Despite the somewhat-high prices we were pleasantly surprised by the food. The pie was ok but the fish and chips were very decent and came in a pretty large portion.

Service was spotty, it took quite a while to get served, it was hard to find someone and the waitress forgot things but after working in a pub myself I understand. Generally this is due to being understaffed rather than the fault of the wait staff.

We ran into issues when it came time to pay, the bill was unexpectedly high and noticed there was an additional £8 on the bill. Confused we realised that the waitress had charged us the (optional) 15% service fee that tables of 8 or more are able to pay if they choose. When we asked her she explained it was an optional payment but it was clear she was being intentionally deceitful (not to mention we were not a table of 8, we were a table of 2 and she was at our table providing service for a total of, at most 50 seconds). There is obviously a clear difference between a POS error and being caught out in a lie.

The food was okay and if you’re a cashed up, starving tourist then by all means go for it. You can get something better a few streets further west but if you insist, be ready for...

Delicious pies and excellent ales in a cozy setting

Ale&Pie is a fantastic spot for anyone who loves hearty, comforting food paired with great craft beers. The pies here are absolutely delicious—flaky pastry, generous fillings, and packed with flavor. I tried the steak and ale pie, and it was one of the best I’ve had in London.

The selection of ales and craft beers is impressive, with plenty of local brews on tap to choose from. The staff were friendly, knowledgeable, and happy to help with recommendations.

The atmosphere is warm and inviting, perfect for a casual lunch or relaxed evening out. It’s a cozy little gem tucked away in the city that’s definitely worth a visit if you’re craving classic British comfort food with a twist.

Our family ended up here hunting for dinner , we didn't regret it! The atmosphere of the place is great. We couldn't make up our mind what we wish to eat, the staff was very patient and helpful. We had some fish and chips with some stuffed meat balls. The taste was amazing (I don't eat fish but this was great, they served it hot and fresh), their draft IPA also represents high quality. Unfortunately my daughter had some struggle. They immediately offered to call an ambulance, provided a quiet place for her to calm and tried to calm us as well. Luckily she got well and everything was all right. We'd like to thank the kind and humane attitude of the staff and the great food for the cook! I'm sure we'll return one...

A warm welcome to London’s Earl’s Court After our check-in at a nearby hotel, we were famished for a good meal and we found just that at The Blackbird’s Ale&Pie in Earl's Court. Friendly service in a warm and cozy pub atmosphere. I ordered the special Ox Cheek and Stilton meat pie with triple-cooked chips, leeks and a red wine gravy. I devoured the meat pie, the chips were perfection and the London Pride cask ale was icing on the cake. Come for meat pies, stick around for the cask ales in a cozy nook of Earl's Court, and then you can literally stay in one of the rooms above the pub.

I fell in love with British beer. I love London Pride and fish and chips on a rainy day. It was a real awakening for me, who usually doesn't enjoy drinking and especially doesn't know the taste of beer. I never imagined that London's pubs would be this charming. I praise and admire Europe so much, but England is also a charming place. This trip was so satisfying from the start!!! The hotel was great, but I strongly recommend you visit the pub as well.
