The pizza tasted like a brick. It didn't. But it was a really poor mushroom pizza. The service was so slow we saw the rotation of the stars above us. However, the head of staff was very good at fulsome apologies. His crew, however, behaved like first-day newbies to the service industry.
There was a talk on drugs downstairs that evening. I was kindly offered a spare ticket by another guest. Great talk. On the way down to the talk I saw some of The Conduit's facilities on the various levels. The place resembles a smash up between a Soho House side-line project and a WeWork. BTW, a club member who I sat next to was very unhappy that the professor giving the talk was selling and signing his books after the event. He said it was kitsch and not the kind of thing they should do at an exclusive club.
