Place was ok I went with my sister and she ordered the chicken katsu burger and I ordered the fish and chips. Service didn’t take long and the food was good. The fish is massive with the fish and chips - very filling. However, I paid £1.75 extra for the curry sauce and when the food came out the curry sauce was less then half the pot full - literally a tablespoon of sauce that had probably been heated in the microwave for god knows how long. I mean it was BOILING and I ended up burning my tongue - you wouldn’t expect a sauce to be scorching hot. I spoke to one of the guys on the team if they could give me a full pot of the sauce considering I paid £1.75 for it and he took the pot and spent 7/8m (I was nearly halfway through my food + I was sitting next to the kitchen) and then came out and you could easily tell the sauce had just been transferred into another pot - nothing extra added and again had probably left it in the microwave for 5 whole minutes - ridiculous! If there was no more left they could have just said instead of treating their customers like they’re stupid and wouldn’t realise.the white one was the first pot and then just transferred into the blue one and that’s how much they brought

The place didn't look much on the outside, however, when we walked in, we were greeted by a nice member of staff who led us to the table at the far end of the pub. After the 3 Lions' game and every fan started leaving, staff cleaned the tables and went back to tell us that we can sit anywhere we fancy so that we were more comfortable. We stayed put as it wasn't too bad at all, but this was a really nice gesture from staff. We had a perfectly cooked fish and chips, and beef and cheese burger. We took our time enjoying the ambience of a traditional British pub. Yes, the place doesn't look glamorous when viewed from the outside but we can see that this place is a local favourite. I am not surprised, and if I live locally, I most likely frequent this pub. The food, the feel and friendliness of staff were highly commendable. Brilliant team they have here. Loved the ceiling art!

I have never had such appalling food as I did tonight . I own a cafe and we would be out of business if we served what we got. Nachos : nothing but a slight bit of cheese/ sour cream and next to nothing Avo . Lots of hot peppers though.. !! We also ordered 5 share dishes : one was just ok . The fish was just coating : barely any fish The sausage rolls : were just disgusting Sausages : mmm . Just didn’t like them and no sauce came with them . Here’s the big one : prawn and chorizo: to disguise that we got lots of prawns : prawn heads were on the plate . I have a photo . And 100% the prawns were frozen . And the smallest amount of chorizo . We came in the other day and were served by the two most grumpiest wait staff : thankfully we only got drinks . I am sorry but this wasn’t great but the best thing is : I won’t be coming back and won’t recommend your pub to anyone .

During our visit to London, we passed this place several times and though it looked like a nice pub.

The pub is nice and cozy but when we got here we asked if they still served food and we got the reply that we had to order within 10 minutes. Because of this we ordered both a shared platter and a dessert.

After waiting a while we get our dessert and the waitress said it was because they didn’t know which order we wanted it… if they don’t know the order, how likely is it that we actually want a chocolate cake before our hot food??

But we kind of had to eat it since it came with ice cream and when we were done we got our shared platter. However it was supposed to have two sliders, chicken wings, fried fish, fries and two sauces. It felt like the chef wanted to get home early because instead of two sliders we just got a regular burger that they cut in half. The chicken wings were really dried, tasted like they had been fried for too long and been laying around for quite some time. The fish was good but we were missing the sauce that was supposed to go with it so we had to tell them about it so we could have it.

Wouldn’t recommend this place based on the food and...

Went here today with a friend for lunch and to watch football. Very poorly managed.

Ordered the steak and ale pie which was nice, but the chips that came with it were hard and over cooked. I asked the barman for ketchup which he then forgot about. I then had to call him over a second time when he told me they had completely run out of all sauces. The pub had about 25 tables and none had sauce when the pub wasn’t busy!

They forgot to put sound on the TV when the football started. I asked about it at the bar and the barman said he was new and didn’t know how the sound system worked, but he would check with the manager. Again, I assume he forgot.

We had a game of pool after eating where the card reader charged my friend twice and only allowed us to play once.

My friend ordered a coke at the bar and was told they only had Diet Coke on tap, otherwise he would have to pay extra for a bottle. Everything about this pub was slow, difficult and disorganised. Customers felt like a nuisance.

We left for another bar at half time which was much more accommodating. I won’t be visiting again.

PS. I don’t want to blame this on a new member of staff. His manager should be...
