Sept 2024 Service was quick. Food wasn't as hot as it could have been, but passable.
Again, as in some other spoons I have experienced, different portion sizes for the same meal. Our table had ordered among others two triple American cheese burgers.
One plate had burgers that resembled a McDonald's burgers, flat and thin, bearing able to find under the bun. The other 3 fat juicy burgers. Each one big enough to hide all three of the other plates' burgers.
Needless to say, we didn't order any more food. We finished our drinks and left.
Is this becoming the norm now at spoons. I know they are cheaper than other places to eat, but surely there should be some consistency...
Read moreMy boyfriend and I ordered food and drinks and everything was fine. We ordered a second round of food and drinks and while we were eating, the waitress Ollie (blonde short hair, she refused to give me her name initially so I'm unsure that's her real name) approached to ask for ID, and I gave her mine but my boyfriend didn't have his so she said if he was caught drinking he would be kicked out of the place. Please note that my boyfriend is 23 and has a big beard xD and is older than me plus we were there at 3pm on a Sunday.
I was having a WKD, which contains 4% alcohol and he took a sip, and as if she had been keeping an eye on us, she came to our table snatched the drink from his hand and said 'you guys are out' and left. I said to her 'excuse me, could I have the rest of the he drink?' and she ignored me and walked away. I felt disrespected so I waited for her to come back to ask formy drink, as I had paid for it and she said she'd thrown it away. I confronted her unprofessional and disrespectful behaviour and she acted like she didn't care, asked us to leave and I said we were leaving but I wanted to finish my drink and offered to drink it in front of her.
As someone who works in hospitality I was horrorized that someone could treat customers like that. She made us feel disrespected, attacked and discriminated agai st as there were other young people under 25 sitting around us but she never asked anyone for ID. Also, I suggest that Wetherspoons reviews their ordering policy as everything is done online and they could be actually selling to underage people. I would also like to inform the stablishment of this employer's unacceptable behaviour towards...
Read moreMe & my friend came here & I felt a negative energy as soon as I walked in. I ordered a simple burger which took about 30-45mins to arrive at my table & tell me why it’s burnt. The manager & the floor staff literally looked at our table & our finished plates & pitchers pushed to the side ready to be taken off of our table & they just walked past & did every other table around us. I literally laughed every time they walked past our table & just stared at plates. I tried speaking to the manager about it, he even turns his back while I was speaking to attend to another customers even though I tried complaining about the mess being left there & that my burger was burnt I couldn’t even eat. He did not even acknowledge anything I said he literally said “I do apologies I was working my way round” then just walked off, what the hell? He didn’t even offer me a new burger or anything. I also said “how are u working ur way round when you completely skipped our table & went to the table behind me?” Surely if you was “working your way round” you would take the plates from our table then take the plates from the table behind? Or am I just crazy? The customer service was terrible & one of the waiters were terrible at his job, dropping cutlery & dismissing the mess on my table. I will not ever come back here again. The worst Wetherspoons I’ve every been to, the Woolwich one is way better than the Greenwich one. It gets way to packed as well, if there are no tables why make plp wait around within the restaurant? It’s just weird &...
