I had an amazing meal at Mughal Indian Restaurant in Paddington. The restaurant is a little on the cozy side, but that only adds to the charm — it feels warm and personal, and the food absolutely makes up for the size. From start to finish, everything was excellent. The lamb chops were truly out of this world — tender, perfectly spiced, and cooked to perfection. The yellow dal was comforting and flavorful, with just the right consistency, and the lamb curry was rich, aromatic, and packed with depth. Both roti and parantha were freshly made and paired beautifully with the curries. The small side of onion and chili added a nice kick and complemented the dishes really well. Presentation was thoughtful and made the meal feel special. You can even see the difference in the before and after photos on the table — everything disappears quickly because it’s that good. The staff were friendly and attentive, and it’s clear the kitchen takes pride in every dish. Compliments to the chef for consistently delivering authentic flavors. Overall, it’s a cozy spot with some of the best Indian food I’ve had in London. Definitely worth a visit.

Amazing. Best Indian food I’ve ever had and on a completely different level. Just so delicious and flavorful, I was so glad we stopped in. I got the vegetarian thali with okra dal and saag and wow, just incredible. Everything on the plate was so yummy. It’s also a nice value for the price. The restaurant was crowded but not too loud, and the service was quick and attentive. Every staff member was friendly and kind, and really made us feel welcome. They even made sure to open the door for us on the way out. It’s exceptional service for such a busy Saturday night. As a bonus the restaurant is cozy and intimate, with nice dim lights and music that is not too loud for conversation. I was really blown away by the food and the experience. Congratulations to the team.

We visited Mughals on a Thursday evening around 5:30, and it was very easy to get in and make a reservation. The service was outstanding and incredibly quick. We ordered the butter chicken and chicken korma, both good but a bit on the sweeter side and missing some of the depth of flavor you find at other places. If you like a sweeter palate, you’ll probably enjoy it, and you could even go a little spicier to balance it out. The naan was fine, and portions were generous for the price. Overall, it’s reasonably priced, with excellent service and a comfortable spot for Indian food if you’re in the area, though I wouldn’t call it a must-visit or main dinner destination.

If you’re anywhere near Paddington Station and craving some tasty Indian food, Mughal’s is a solid choice. It’s literally a 2–3 minute walk from the station, which makes it perfect if you’ve just gotten off the train or have time to kill before your next journey.

The vibe inside is cozy and laid-back, but it can get pretty packed—tables are close together, so don’t expect loads of elbow room. The staff are super friendly and quick, though, which makes up for it.

The food? Delicious! Their chicken tikka masala is creamy and perfectly spiced, and the naan is soft and fresh. The butter chicken leans a bit sweet, but it’s still really good, and the lamb curries are tender and flavorful. Portions are generous—great if you’re hungry after a long day of sightseeing.

Prices are pretty reasonable for central London, with most mains around £10–£14. There’s even an all-you-can-eat buffet on Sundays if you want to try a bit of everything.

A couple of things to keep in mind: the place can feel cramped, especially during dinner rush.

Quick tips: ✅ Book ahead if you’re going during busy times ✅ Perfect spot for a hearty meal before or after your train ✅ Don’t skip the fresh naan—it’s amazing!

Overall, Mughal’s is a great spot if you’re after classic Indian dishes, friendly service, and good value right by Paddington. Just don’t expect a fancy setting—this place is all...

I only ordered the chicken tikka masala. The staple English Indian takeaway favourite, made only in the UK and by 10,000 restaurants or more. It’s hard to imagine any of them doing a worse job.

I was so exhausted from 3 days travelling that I needed immediate and easy satiating. I would have eaten ANYTHING, but this was so bad it was completely inedible.

Imagine mixing tomato ketchup with milk and adding frozen chicken. That’s it. Not a single spice of note, no flavour other than heightened levels of preservatives. Presumably so that they can make it in batches weeks in advance. It’s almost like they do it deliberately to win the award for the worst dish nationwide.

When I ordered it I sensed almost a snigger from the waiter as he looked at his colleague as though they’d bagged another mug. I thought I was imagining it until I got home and unwrapped the cheap plastic container and clingfilm and the smell, like a suburban nightclub toilet, hit me.

It’s hard to write an entire restaurant review based on the quality of just one dish, but equally hard to imagine that to have made something so completely inedible that it would be possible to have the skill, or indeed integrity, to put any effort into...
